If you choose to go up to the Pro models, you get a better brighter display that can do variable refresh from 30-144hz, better speakers, and in the 17" model you get a rtx 5050 and the higher power 285H cpu. This is a big tradeoff in battery life due to the higher spec components though. If you like the 258V/288V power sipping lunar lake cpus, you can get that in the 16 pro and It'll run just like this but you do get a huge battery in this 17" model. I was considering the gram pro 16 but they havent gone below $1,495 with coupon on their partner site so far. Theres a posting for the 17" Pro model here on slickdeals if you want that, and I was sent a 15% off coupon that I shared in that thread to drop the price to $1500 shipped for one poster. It has limited uses though, so good luck. Hope this helps, its a good laptop for sure, but wanted to assist the community in comparing the models.

I have a Wells Fargo Visa Signature card, but that apparently does not extend the warranty.

I pulled this from the Cap One website just now, but the document is a few years old.

"Here's how Extended Protection works
Your warranty coverage can be extended by one (1) additional
year on eligible warranties of three (3) years or less. For example,
a manufacturer's warranty of three (3) months would be
provided with an additional twelve (12) months of coverage
for a combined total of fifteen (15) months of coverage, and a
warranty for six (6) months would be provided with an additional
twelve (12) months of coverage for a combined total of eighteen
(18) months of coverage. However, if the manufacturer's warranty
is for three (3) years, it would only be extended one (1) additional
year for a combined total of four (4) years of coverage."
This would probably be the case for any modern ultraportable. Can't even add or replace RAM. I hope the SSD at least is upgradeable.
But tried 3 different batteries in the newer one and none worked.

Prior to purchasing the LG Gram, the Samsung Book5 Pro made my short list as well due to the excellent build quality and a very good anti-reflective coating, but ultimately decided I wanted a lighter machine and, more importantly, a non-glare screen and so I opted for the LG Gram with the IPS display. I do not regret this as I cannot stand the glare on all of the laptops with glossy OLEDs.
By the way, you must have missed my post from August 21 where I posted the 16 Pro with the 288V, 32GB, 2TB, IPS for $1450 so a little less than the $1495!

I have the 2021 version and it is like a tank and still working great. I just hate how they changed the lettering sizing on the new keyboard ( much smaller) and the keyboard feels more "plasticky" on the 2025 Gram but I will buy this laptop in a second if I need a new one.
Once you get used to a 3lb laptop .... you will never go back
