Can some of you chime in on these in general? Are they expensive long term for like refills etc.

Trying to replace a Monster Orange semi-addiction and maybe make some very low sugar Coke/Pepsi

Thanks

Based on some quick calculations for prices I found for the refills on Amazon it doesn't seem very cost effective vs just buying regular packs of seltzer water in cans, esp if you can get them in bulk or on sale. $30 for the CO2 makes 100 drinks, 40ish for a couple of packs that get you around 100 drinks. So around $70 for 100 drinks, roughly, or 70 cents per drink. Bulk/sale prices for seltzers, at least locally for me, can be had for roughly 25-45 cents per can/drink. Might be able to optimize the refills more to bring the overall price down but it's still not worth it imo, at least for me.
That being said I only compared it to flavored seltzer water because that's what we drink. Not sure about prices vs "real" soda.
My local Costco stopped carrying the liter seltzer so I'm scrambling for an alternative. Debating whether to get this or just stock up when lidl or a store has a sale....
I have one of these and love it. People say the built in flavor thing will screw up eventually but I just use the Bubly flavor drops or the soda stream syrups after the fact so I can't speak to that. Not particularly cost effective if you use their flavor pods and CO2 refills, but I got a $20 tank adapter and have mine connected to a 5lb CO2 tank I get filled at a local welding supply store for about $15. Way cheaper than buying seltzers or sodas now and works well.
