aside from the issues that other's have brought up, I have these, and the coin battery doesn't last more than 5-6 months for me. I guess it depends how often it connects with other devices. I stopped using these because the constant battery replacement was too much...

One of the advantages of the Apple AirTag ecosystem is the variety of 3rd Party accessories that are available - Key rings, battery life extenders etc.
This one allows you to use 2 x AA Lithium (Single-use, not rechargeable) batteries to provide a 10-yr battery life: https://www.amazon.com/Elevation-...0F1RFVR84/

There were reports that even the upcoming 2nd Gen AirTags would follow the same form-format, so these accessories would continue to work. Samsung keeps making newer versions with different designs so nobody wants to invest in making accessories for them, on top of their poor sales.
The main advantage of Apple AirTags over Samsung SmartTags is how wide their network is. Apple FindMy network comprises all iPhones by default (unless someone opts-put) whereas Samsung's SmartThings Find network is disabled by default, and a user needs to enable them for their phone to support it.

no wonder my tags would never get accurate locations...never knew Samsung's SmartThings Find network is disabled by default. They seem less of a tracking tag now more than ever and the only real benefit is that if you lost something you could alert where it is with a beep (assuming it is lost not stolen, and still has batteries 😅)
