Bought one of these 3 years ago for $155 from Wayfair and that was a good deal at the time. Works great and still going strong

Feel so lucky to get it new for 140 after tax last month… Amazon refunded 35 to not return it. I got both HCC and ZCC, and couldn't decide which to keep. They tasted similar to me when cooking three different types of rice. ZCC is definitely for the win for the price.

For what it's worth, I've had nothing but nightmares trying to buy a used coffee grinder from Amazon recently. Sent me 3 "like new" grinders that didn't work and weren't "like new." I grabbed a used one off eBay, cleaned it up, and it actually works well and looks newer than Amazon's like new. This rice cooker is awesome, though. I have the same one. Bought it brand new for $175.

Agreed Amazon resale is not the way to go for kitchen appliances. Last couple 'like new' things I got were scratched scuffed and dirty food parts. One had missing item. They don't look at them at all. Maybe just stick to electronics that don't typically get used or touched by humans much like a soundbar for resale items

For anyone that's curious, this is the model that's made in Japan.

This brand is amazing. I bought a rice cooker 25 years ago and it's still going strong. It is before the music was added, and just one button, but it works great.

I have this rice maker and usually set it for "quick" cooking. It comes out perfect. My grandmother taught me the trick to measure the amount of water for the rice to be at least as high above the uncooked rice as your the first joint of your index finger. Since my fingers are smaller, I put the level of water at about 1-2 mms above the joint. I also pre-rinse the rice and it doesn't come out as sticky. On the "menu/operating panel" you can also choose a soupy version of rice that we call congee. I like to use chicken broth as the liquid after first cooking the rice with quick cook (so it goes through two cycles,) and it comes out like a thick and satisfying chicken rice soup (add ingredients to your taste.)
