The PS5 Pro deal stands out as a strong way to cut the console price with Dell credits, Amex, cash back, and occasional PayPal Pay in 4 savings. The Pro is framed as the best upgrade for 4K setups that want smoother frame rates, extra storage, and a likely final hardware refresh before the next generation. The main cautions are the missing disc drive, possible need for a separate drive for physical games, and some discount stacks not always combining cleanly. Timing and stock also matter, since shipping estimates shifted and the bundle sold out and came back in stock.

Considering that I just sold my PS5 for $300, getting PS5 Pro for $500 means that I'm just getting a replacement for $200
Don't forget another $70 for a disc drive if you have any physical games you want to play. That's what's kept me from bothering.

There's also a PayPal deal that can be used on the PS5 at Best Buy, and maybe other places. Best Buy has this on sale for $650 as well. You can see details on the other PS5 thread and also the PayPal thread on Slickdeals. Basically it is 20% off cash back if you check out with PayPal, but you need to pay in four no interest installments. It does require a soft credit check.

I am opting not to do this because while it should not be reported to the credit bureau, according to ChatGPT, there is a chance it is reported even if paid on time, and some lenders might not be favorable on people who pay in installments. ChatGPT also noted that PayPal might inadvertently report a late payment even if it was paid on time. All in all, probably not worth the risk for me.
That is a load of rubbish. I've been using PayPal payments for years and my credit score is over 850. Stop believing AI and use some natural intelligence instead. If you pay your bills on time it will never hurt your credit, in fact that's how you build it.

This is probably a good deal but way out of my price range. I miss when gaming was affordable.

I guess the entry point is $400 and that doesn't come with a disc drive to play my PS4 physical games.

If you apply for a student or military discount, you won't be eligible because these come under MPP. Check the terms and conditions under Amex @traviswooten727
I didn't know EDU discount comes under MPP. 🫠 Should I return and order again?

I had to search for and activate the offer on my Amex. But it was there. Now I have to convince myself it's worth it.

$449 - 20% back, do the math

I went with the PS5 disc edition with an extra controller and a mouse (just go get to $500) which got me to just over $500 with the sale and the 10% off. Then I'll get the $100 off so end price is $403.

Keep in mind that occasionally Dell will have pretty good CB. I'm hoping for a triple whammy Black Friday - sale price, $100 Amex, and 15% CB. We will see. :-). Good luck to you.

As I mentioned in another thread, if you start a chat session with a Dell Rep, they can email you a quote which locks the price for 30 days

If you're okay not having the pro, there are some pretty good deals on the slim version including I think with disc drive if you search on SD.

I am clueless about the console market:
Will Sony releaze anything newer by the GTA 6 release date?
