Doing the Pay-in-4 was fairly smooth except it wanted me to add a new credit card for some reason even though there was nothing wrong with the card I had on file before. After 8% tax the out-the-door price was $399.59. I added a 2% cash back card, so after 22% off the final after tax price should come out to under $313.
Hoping to get an additional 4% or 6% cash back from a cash back site with the initials RtMN which would take the final price down to under $300 and as low as $292, but those cookie tracking sites are always hit or miss, so who knows if it will work or not. No sign of success so far.
Probably should have spent more to get the $500 Ventus 5070, but I have a 600W PSU with only two 8-pin plugs on the same cord and I'm too lazy to replace the PSU and I'm not sure I'd want to chance a 250W card with that even though it should run the 5070 just fine, and rebates are not guaranteed. I also needed a short card for a short case, so it seemed like a perfect fit for my needs. Now I just need to use it so that it doesn't go to waste like many of my other impulse purchases (you only use so many $20 illuminated Cherry brown mechanical keyboards and mice, etc.)
Guess I'm posting to try to make myself feel better about spending $313 on a lower powered card I'm not sure I need. I'm gambling that with the price of RAM going up and AMD not seeming to care about being real competitive that the price of cards will just keep going up making this a good investment for the next few years. Gonna cross my fingers that I get the extra 4-6% to take it down to under $300.
EDIT - it looks like the cash back is pending in my account now. It looks like my final after taxes price is going to come in under $300. I don't feel as badly about not being able to play the Newegg lottery for an 8 GB 5060 TI for $100 now.
Probably because at 14% off MSRP it's not a great deal, just a good deal. I think we consumers are primed to think that GPU prices are going up next year, so that adds to the urgency. But I think there's enough stock on hand for NewEgg to carry this through BF if not Cyber Monday.
I also received my order today. But I've finally got the Pay-in-4 to work (I'm in WA) on the 2nd order, so I'll return this one when the 2nd one arrives.
>There's another card on ebay "PNY VCG5060T16DFXPB1-O GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Overclocked Dual Fan GPU DLSS 4" open box, selling for $365. you may be able to use paypal offer on that too.
I got email from PayPal today, after my first Pay-in-4 purchase (for the GPU). It says "you've reached your limit of the promo."
Can paying PayPal PayIn4 instalment payment still qualify the product for credit card purchase protection like Amex extended warranty?

However, assuming you can get the 20% back from Paypal and maybe a little more with a cash back site, it might depend on what you could get for the 6750. Even then, it's iffy. Would probably be better to get the 5070 with the same cash back deal.
When many items get outdated, they go on clearance sale, and pre-Crypto I had assumed that would happen with video cards, but instead today they just completely sell out and merely reach a sale price and not fire sale clearance. You can still find the old models listed for sale for crazy high prices. I wonder if anyone ever purchases those or if they even exist in stock; I suppose if someone actually goes and buys a 4070 for $800 it's like winning a lottery scratch off ticket for the seller.
