PSA: If you don't need the Hulu and happen to live near a Krogers, you can get Kroger Boost membership (free same day delivery) + Disney included for $50 for 1 year (Black Friday, half off membership price). That's like $4 a month. I already get Hulu for $1.99 with student discount, so I went the Kroger route instead

TY for sharing. Will still do this but it's a tougher call at $5. Hulu is worth $0 to me and Disney Plus is iffy, at best.

Anyone else holding out for the ninety nine cent hulu deal??
I just don't see it happening.. not at that price and probably NOT just for HULU.. it will be pretty hard for them to offer a HULU only access plan once it's all merged with the BORG of Disney.

Bought 4.99 using Amex Blue Cash Everyday.
1 day later got $4.99 credit.
Make sure to activate it on Amex website.
A bit lot of ads and long ones too

Bah, here I was ready to pull the trigger as I let our D+ sub die out earlier this year. Used to be good deals for yearly without ads. Now it's waaaaaay too expensive for their mediocre output.
Anyway, after researching the ad frequency and that ads are louder than what you're watching, I'm a hard pass.

Had a subscription from last year expire today (11/28/25). It let me reactivate with the promotional rate for 12 months. So if you have an account from last year's promotion up for monthly charge in the next few days, set it to "cancel" and after the last date, try to renew.

I did it through Hulu's landing page but I don't think it matters; they are offering this deal on both the D+ and Hulu landing pages.

Anyone know about how many ads they make you watch per movie?

Does anyone know if I can pay for this bundle with a Hulu gift card? What I'd like to do is sign up for the first month via Paypal and then add a $25 Hulu gift card to pay for the next 5 months. Would that work or do they not allow gift cards for promotions?
At least for last year's deal this was possible.

On the Hulu side I'm assuming 'No' on using a gift card for the initial sign up per the offer terms/fine print, but yes, you can do Paypal for the initial sign up and then add Hulu gift cards, it's what I did last year.

Hoping it's also possible this year, I like putting in gift cards to 'set and forget' the subscription and have peace of mind without worrying about monthly dates and such.

You must be young. They use to have this thing called cable tv. You'd be surprised how many ads you saw. And you had to pay. Crazy I know
I remember when cable first came out and the argument given for paying for cable was that there were no ads... That didn't last long!

I assume he's talking about Amex BCP which gets you $10 a month statement credit.

Honestly though I'd rather pay $20 ($10 net) for Disney Hulu no commercials, than $5 for free with ads, if you have or get that card.
Regular Hulu & Disney + (both with ads) is $4.99/mo but there is an upgrade option to Premium for $14.99 (both with no ads), with the $10 Amex Blue Cash Preferred it comes out to either free (with ads) or $4.99 (no ads).

That deal is over. As has been mentioned several times previously in this thread the Hulu app will be phased out next year and Hulu's content will be accessible through a unified Disney+ app. So it looks likely that there won't ever again be a 99¢ deal again for just Hulu.

Been waiting for this, the price hikes are a shame tho.
2 years ago this was $2, last year it was $3 and it's $5.
The access to new Disney movies, FX Hulu shows and the simpson library is worth it I think.
Yeah but this is the ad version, so... yeah ads kill these deals for me

I hated the ads for so long, but I finally was tired of paying full price and honestly it helps keep me from watching too much lol
