I may give this a try, especially with the warranty.

I have this exact model which i bought refurbished (from a 3rd party ebay). The stand was broken in 2 places, and had severe dead pixels all over the place. But, damn the HDR1000 was a game changer, my previous model was HDR400. It was good enough that I returned the monitor and bought the same monitor new because that HDR1000 is amazing. The new monitor has no problems and Battlefield 6 is absolutely amazing on it.
A small bit of warning, The HDR is so good that if you tune the brightness as instructed in the game, if someone throws a Flashbang at you, you get flashbang. It's bright! Also the sunset is hella bright and looking in that direction is hard. By far, I'm probably a worse player, but It so good, I honestly don't care.
Highly recommend, I think I bought mines at 600ish and I think it's worth it at that price.

Haven't done much movie watching in HDR on it. Not like Netflix in the browser supports HDR in the first place. It's primary a computer monitor. Standard YouTube looks fine. Color is very vibrant, blacks are good for a computer monitor. I believe it's a 10-bit native panel and with tuning it's very good. As a note though, it's not like I'm using it in a pitch black environment so that helps out for perceived black levels. It has dimming zones which were initially distracting as they can be, but I got used to it and it's hard to notice outside a high contrast picture. It's definitely not an OLED, which I have at home a high quality TV to compare to. But damn, this monitor has a NITS brightness that well outperform my OLED and seeing a HDR1000 sunset 1.5 feet away is total game changer. Feels like squinting at the real sun on the beach. The OLED is less impressive with the lights on but this monitor just looks fantastic in a well lit environment.

Great monitor for this price. I have same one. Make sure you manually turn on HDR in the OSI settings or the screen will look washed in windows. The OSI sucks, I switch between work laptop and home pc on this monitor and it took some time to get used to the buttons on the bottom of the screen to switch. You can set it up for auto switching but it wasn't working great for my use case. OSI issues aside this monitor is great. I got mine on amazon refurb though, not sure what the ebay return process is like but keep that in mind as i've read some of these refurbs are great (like the one I received) and some need to be sent back.

You didn't mention which OS you're using. Netflix does support HDR on Windows 10 & 11 and macOS 10.15.5 or later.

If you do happen to be on Windows 11, and you're not getting HDR content, you can try:
  • Installing the HEVC codec from the Windows Store.
  • Disabling any screen recording software you have running, like OBS Studio, or software installed with your video card, like AMD Adrenalin or the Nvidia App.
  • Windows Settings > System > Display > Make sure HDR video streaming is enabled. (Shown in this video [youtube.com])
  • Windows Settings > System > Display > HDR > HDR [ON] -- Click this. It will expose additional settings. Make sure "Allow HDR video streaming even when HDR is off" (Full tutorial here [elevenforum.com])
There are many more things out there for anyone to try if you're still having issues.

I bought 4 of these exact monitors from a couple Black Fridays ago.
  1. Definitely test the monitor as soon as you get it, as I don't think the manufacturer did any testing on them. One monitor came with a cracked screen. Another monitor had a huge vertical band of dead pixels.
  2. Of the two monitors I decided to keep, one of them will occasionally randomly go blank until I power cycle it. While it's a minor annoyance, it rarely happens (maybe once week?) and the simple work around is just to press the power button twice.
At this price I probably wouldn't recommend them since you can simply get a new Dell monitor with similar specs for only $200 at Amazon in the other Slickdeal. The only caveat is that it has slightly slower refresh rate (120 Hz).

Received mine today and the screen was smashed. It seemed packed pretty well so I'm wondering if they even checked it before shipping out.

Just got mines, decided I'll get another. It works but it was missing the VESA spacers that are supposed to come with it.
