I hike 3-4 days a week 5+ miles in New Mexico. I go through 2 pairs of these in the winter. These are the most comfortable, durable, light weight hikers with the best waterproofing I have found and I've tried them all. All the other fancy brands fall apart after literally 1 hike. In my opinion this is the best buy before you get into an expensive heavy boot.

I use to love Merrell. There quality has drastically declined over the last 7 years or so. These shoes are put together much better than any Merrells on the market.

Comparable but not the same shoe, I believe these are the previous version with the built-in "sock" and without Gore-Tex.

From what I've read, the Terrex shoes run large, but the boots are more true. I still went a half size up because thicker socks.

I have wide feet also, I'm not positive on these but I bought a pair of "Terrex Agravic GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoes" and they fit very well. They're snug but not uncomfortable and were true to size. Also adidas ebay has free and easy returns, I've never had issues, so worth a shot imho.
