FitRx SmartBell adjustable dumbbells stand out for fast one handed weight changes and a compact rack that fits a home gym setup. The 52.5 pound set offers 15 weight configurations, and the locking system works well when the cradle is set down straight. Long term use has held up for some, but the design is also described as bulky, a bit shaky, and less smooth to slide than Bowflex. A few comments also point to durability concerns and a recall on the 90 pound SmartBell XL line, making this a practical pick if quick adjustments matter more than a smaller footprint.
Common Questions (4)
The weight changes are quick and can be done one-handed, which makes them convenient during short rest periods. They work best when you set the dumbbell back into the cradle straight; tilting it can keep it from locking in properly.
Yes. The 52.5 lb version is described as long and bulky even at lighter settings, with the 52.5 lb model measuring about 18 inches and lacking the taper of the 25 lb version. That extra size can make lower-weight exercises feel awkward.
It can hold up well with regular use if handled carefully and not dropped or pounded on the floor. One long-term owner reported four years of frequent use with no loose weights or adjustment problems, while another commenter strongly preferred sturdier alternatives like PowerBlock or Eisenlink/iFast.
Yes. The Walmart listing is $98 for the FitRx SmartBell Quick Select Adjustable Dumbbell set and includes free shipping.
