The only way to get it cheaper for a trade in is metro with a port-in, and that would be 12 months for an unlock, (which you don't need for Apple/T-Mobile trade-in).
Used (13) devices in decent condition for trade-in seem still be $200-250 and up.

Now I want a slightly better phone which also has more lenses (mainly the 0.5x) for filming/vlogging. Think I will get this. The only better deal I've seen was when Total had it for free with a 3-month plan ($165) but that deal is butchered now.
I need a new phone for my kid and this seems like a good cheap option, but I need it to be unlocked so we can use it on our plan.
