Buy the Tracfone $19.99 90-Day prepaid service plan from Best Buy or Target.
https://www.bestbuy.com/product/t...JXJCJWPGL8
https://www.target.com/p/tracfone...A-52580738

Call Tracfone to rebrand/re-sku the iPhone to Tracfone and activate on the above plan.

If anyone didn't know this. After you activate your phone, you can add this plan and it count as a month. It also worked on plans that said you needed 2 months of silver, etc.

oh, I get it.

I thought by getting the Tracfone plan it automatically unlocks the phone from Straight Talk.
But what is happening is:
1. Get the phone from Straight Talk (needs 60 days to unlock)
2. Use it on tracfone for 90 days (which overlaps the 60 days)
3. It'll unlock after the 60 days anyway

is Straight Talk/Tracfone on the same network?
Is that why it will work for Tracfone without unlocking?

Thank you

Dont buy these. Too old. If you want a phone with sim card sure. These have only few years of support left
It's $150 and then in a few years when support is dropped you can get another dated iphone for $150 instead of the $799 you would pay today for a iphone 17. You can even invest the $150 for the next phone today and you will have maybe $200-250 in a few years when it's time to upgrade.

Seems like a decent photo to use as a trade in when new one are released. Am I wrong?

For trade in deals, most will take as is, out of the box unless they specifically stated must be unlocked. To unlock for cheap, rebrand the iPhone to Tracfone and activate it on their $19.99 90-day plan, and it will automatically unlock after 60 days.
can that method be used for any straight talk phone to unlock? How many have you unlocked like this recently? What about the ones that are "free" with purchasing service? Can you just switch to tracfone and do the $20 plan to unlock still?

This deal may actually be better compared to the Total Wireless one depending on how much tax will be. I actually purchased a total of 6x from Total Wireless at $165 each, lol.
ending up skipping this, figured if there were deals for less months ago, theres better to come.

bought an iphone 15 plus from Walmart for $300 instead, gonna try and unlock it instantly and hope to pay nothing except sales + tax.

Can I go buy 5 of these and trade in my "damaged iphones" that T-mobile won't give me anything for because of a nick here and there? I think these are worth at least $415 and probably $830 for trade in for t-mobile.

At $165, I was satisfied enough to buy it at that price. Although, an iPhone 15 Plus would be quite a bit better when comes to features, I prefer having a SIM card tray which I don't think are available on the iPhone 15 Plus, and I'm pretty sure the iPhone 15 Plus will require a minimum of 60 days being tied to a network before becoming unlocked when you buy it from Walmart.

If your intent is to unlock after 60 days then cancel service, make sure you activate using Straight Talk instead of Total Wireless (even though both are compatible with this phone). Once you punch in the IMEI into one of them, you're locked to the carrier you selected.

Total Wireless' cheapest option is $40/mo vs $35 with Straight Talk. Dont' ask me how I know this. 😠

I had an active ST Moto phone, it had month still active silver plan. I reached out to TF via chat and they rebranded it with TF and added 90 day plan. I assume it will work same with this too, without even buying any plan to begin with.

These are already slowed down by Apple after ios 26 update. I got rid of mine for $150 couple months ago. A regular 13 unlocked with 1 year use with 100% battery still.

yeah its still a good deal. i just asked myself "do i mind paying 150 more for a 15 plus vs a 13" and i think its around the same bang for buck.

iphone 13 has sim tray, 15 plus has newer features like dynamic island and usb c, both have pros and cons.

as far as unlocking, you can unlock from ATT instantly after paying off the phone and doing an esim swap. Theres some risk but people report success usually. Theres instructions here if you're curious: https://slickdeals.net/f/18921319-walmart-at-t-apple-iphone-15-plus-512gb-various-colors-300?p=180873130#post180873130

Total's $40 already includes taxes and fees. Straight Talk's $35 doesn't. It's pretty much the same price.

Oh sh*t, thanks for the plug. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised since us Slickdealers will always find a way around the system 🤣🤣🤣

Please clarify for a phone simpleton here:

1. Buy the phone.
2. Buy 2 months of prepaid ST $35 plan
3. Be able to unlock 100% after 2 months without any hassle?

That's how it works?
