I was able to get a Red Pocket e-SIM number for $7.78 and successfully ported it in to Metro. Plus Metro total of $165.24. All in with eSIM port-in and Metro is $173.02. Now we wait for it to unlock lol

I got this promotion 2 days ago, I had to call 5 different stores around my area, all them were charging $400 - $500 price out of the door. Only on one I was able to get $300. They asked me for my ID and I had to verify myself with a selfie scanner, just like the website. FYI

Can you tell me how you activated the Boost sim from Amazon? Did you actually have to insert the sim into a phone and provide the IMEI number on the Boost website?
Sorry for delay. Yes I inserted sim, scanned the QR code and called support to have it activated. They will ask the iccd number which came and activate.

Thanks, I activated my sim yesterday. I'm gonna wait 5 or so days before requesting the port out pin. Did they give you a hard time when calling in for it?

Tried to port in and after one attempt failed it's telling me I have to go into the store. What a joke
Try calling customer service. The website is buggy.

If you are looking for porting numbers to Metro, PM me. I have extra Visible (Verizon) numbers for AGC.

Yes, they gave me a hard time when I mentioned that the reception at my workplace is poor. They wanted to troubleshoot and test it from their end. Eventually, I told them I would try the service for a few more days and might decide not to port. I asked them to share the port-out details just in case.

Not any more, it was possible more than one year ago.No, a phone locked to Metro by T-Mobile cannot be used on the T-Mobile network until it is unlocked Metro locks devices for 365 days after activation, and a phone must be fully paid off and meet other requirements before Metro will unlock it.
Thanks for info

Does anyone know if while under contract if this phone would work if traveling to europe and using a local sim across the waters? I know sometimes phones are only geo locked for use with other domestic carriers but once abroad its fine.

Just be aware metro isn't by T-Mobile anymore. Metro is part of dish
Dish has access to tmobile towers for a few years and then has to rely on their own
I didn't have any problems however some people are

I read somewhere else it's around $250-$270 total, unlocks in 60 days. 3 Month Plan - $195 ($65 per mo) FULL retail tax of device (5-10%) - $60 Plus whatever else they try and stick on ya. Almost the same as buying on local marketplace/eBay - metro is the most appealing with price point at $155 but one year unlock policy hurts I'll bite at the $200 with 60 day unlock
Metro by T-Mobile unlocks mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.365 days must have passed since the device's activation date.

I see the 16e used for like $400 which just isn't worth it.
