I have this, bought from Newegg thru Ebay two months ago for ~$221, only difference is mine came with 32gb RAM. It's actually shipped by a Newegg vendor in Connecticut. It has a usb-c charging port; mine came with a lighted keyboard and a fingerprint reader. The bluetooth and fingerprint reader needed to be activated thru bios. The laptop has nice sound; no camera. Screen isn't super bright, so not ideal for outside use.

I had an issue with the unit coming with one bad RAM chip (it came with 2 x16GB removable) that was not passing MEMTEST. The vendor shipped replacement RAM out without any issues, and it's been working great.

I'm really happy with the build quality and overall really like the laptop.
Thanks, decided to grab this, do you have the listing for the one you purchased so I can compare? Also which MEMTEST program did you use so I can check mine out? Much appreciated.

Does anyone know if this has a camera? The image makes it look like there is one but there is no mention in the description.
No camera. It's a locked down corporate configuration. I had to activate bluetooth and fingerprint reader in bios - it had been deactivated.

Thanks for all the info. Fingerprint reader activation through bios. I'm ignorant here. Please explain.

I've had the 840 version of this for around five years, it's a solid machine and this is about the best you are going to get for a school laptop other than battery life... Though not going to find much as this cost

Here's my listing. It not showing the correct price I paid, but this is the listing I purchased.

I used memtest86. But that was to confirm the memory was bad - the laptop has a built in memory tester, too.

In for one... for ~$200 this seems like it checks a lot of boxes for something to see light use.

These are prob off lease models, checked records and bought some 3 years ago and can't recall any major issues. I believe both RAM and SSD can be upgraded in this model but someone should verify.

You're comparing apples to oranges. The 32gb RAM in yours most likely means it was configured for a different company.
I'm writing this on a laptop with the exact specs as the one advertised, and I have camera / fingerprint reader / bluetooth.

This thing is going to have so much bloatware on it, And the last HP I owned they messed with the BIOS / UEFI so I couldn't even install a different version of Windows
