You don't have to buy the silver plan on month 2 to unlock the phone. You just have to have active service for 60 days. They don't even have to be 60 consecutive days.

Also, can buy up to two of these phones and you'll get the silver plan on the second line for $30. You don't even have to buy them both at the same time. I bought one phone to unlock and my account now says I can add a second line for $30. Note that you do have to maintain the silver plan to keep this discount.

pretty sure you can downgrade to bronze $35 plan for the 2nd month all it says is 60 days of paid service for unlocking i see nothing about it needing to be the silver unlimited plan for month 2.

yes the phone and tablet work on wifi after the cellular service expires although i highly recommend just paying for a 2nd month of service for the phone so it can be unlocked for use on another carrier. that convenience is work the $35 extra if u ask me

Was it immediate for you when you activated or did you have to wait awhile for the pending amount to post? I've activated mine by going through cash back site and I'm still seeing pending $0.00.

i think, it took sometime to track. I activated in the night like 10 pm and next day morning, i saw it tracked and posted as pending of 16.16.

Bronze is sufficient. If you're fortunate you might find an add'l $10 discount in your cart. ymmv

check your amex offers if you have one. My Gold card offered 20 off 45, so i will continue with the silver for another month for 25. Not bad of a deal for a phone (will be a present) and a decent 5G tablet. My out the door will be 95 - 18 amex cashback - 30 capone cashback + 25 for the second month = $72

Reps to anyone who has done this on other deals. Can you rebrand this phone to first activate tracfone and buy the $20 plan for 3 months and it will be unlocked after month 2?? Can the straight talk plan then be used the 4th month on this unlocked phone?

I also used Amex. My total cost for the phone only (tablet was out of stock), while keeping the Silver plan for two months, came to $66.81 after taxes and fees. Amex provided a 20% discount when I purchased the phone, and it is now offering $20 off a $45 purchase. This is an excellent deal for a solid mid‑range phone.

The deal is good through 1/25 so I'll keep checking on the tablet but I should be able to just keep the phone unactivated (WiFi only) right?

I've been thinking about doing this with either the 2024 G Play or G 5G but this phone has better specs. TIA.
