This thing is crazy loud and pulls hair if u've longer beard cuz u don't shave every day… it may not be an issue for those who shave every day… i'm going back to Philips Norelco.

Is a new Arc5 better than an Arc5 from a couple years ago? They keep using the same names...
I doubt it. My few years old Arc5 still using original foil and blade has a digital power display. This Arc5 looks inferior.

The price of this deal is cheaper than the Legitimate Panasonic foil pack vs. the counterfeit ones that are sold from 3rd parties on amazon. Sadly through the years I must have 5-6 Panasonic ARC razors just because it was cheaper to get the whole thing than just the foil. I use this with warm gel lather... cannot beat it....but foil is good for a year and blades maybe 2. You can get them to last a bit longer if you flip them top bottom....but that just maybe gets you another 6 months. But every black Friday or Father's day they sell the whole unit cheaper than the replacements...

I'm wondering the same thing. Still have my arc5 from years ago
It depends on what model you are using. In the US this model and most sold are the Arc5 second generation (all the way back from 2013). They have 3rd and 4th generation Arc5s but they aren't really sold in the US or Canada. There is a great write up here that explains the differences in models, but if you're in the US chances you have a second gen and this is a second gen too.

How is it for man skaping?
Likely not recommended. A previous poster mentioned this pulls longer hair. Probably good for daily or more regular trims.

This thing is garbage if you've ever had a Braun. The little pop-out trimmer is the best this about it.

Any input on using this to shave head? Recently started shaving my head and Mach 3\Fusion 5 I tend to take a little skin off on a few bumps on my head. I'm guessing with the longer hair comments this may be a no? Any recommendations would be good.
I shave my head daily with this. Works great. If you're not right out of the shower, try some 'Lectric shave to get your hairs to stand up.

This has to be one of the worst electric razors ever. The arc 3 from 15 years ago was amazing but somehow 15 years made technology worse lol

Daily for 2 years and I love it. Won't use anything else. For a wonderful comprehensive review on the Arc5 series (or any other brand/shaver), visit shavercheck.com. I'd like to try an Arc6 someday, but due to the high price (MSRP $400-500!!) I don't see that ever happening. From what I read, the Arc 5 works best on those who shave daily (my experience). Heads up- Panasonic recommends replacing the foil yearly and the blade + foil every two years .. runs about 50 bucks for the combo.
This is such a pos can't even cut hair I need to use a razor after this no matter how many times I go over the same spot even going every direction possible it still can't cut. I won't take this if it's free

I had bought it for $79 last year. Not a slick deal.
Maybe pretariffs but maybe it changed due to this.

I think that is why they have a 30 day return policy. I tried one of their earlier razors. Didn't work for me at all. This one did.

These razors are no longer worth it. You get a comparable shave for 20 bucks with whatever junk on Amazon looks good to you.

I dont give a ahit if the razor body lasts 6 years, if it costs 100 bucks to replace the foil and blade every year I may as well replace the whole thing.
