Amazon typically posts a link to open box/return sales on www.amazonwarehouse.com or www.amazon.com/resale. You'll notice that the Amazon Resale landing page is also a node. That's simply how Amazon categorizes things internally. This link contains a node that corresponds to the sale, and if they run several smaller sales at the same time, they'll use similarly numbered nodes.

This time, the link for the 30% sale used the node 213837807011. It was easy enough to work backward. 10% was 3011, 15% was 4011, 20% was 5011, and 25% was theoretically 6011 (though it was never activated). All of those nodes have been deactivated.

phoinix noticed that discounts were showing up on node 6011 and assumed it had been activated. However, that's not what's actually happening. Instead, there are five new nodes, each with its own items. The new nodes also contain items not found in node 6011. It's a coincidence that all the items in node 6011 are also in the new nodes.

The problem is that we don't have access to those nodes. The current link on the Amazon Resale page is wrong. It contains a bad keyword and the currently inactive node from earlier (7011). I believe you could retrieve all of the nodes for an item with an appropriate API call, but I don't have that access, and I don't know anyone who does. Because of how Amazon handles things, you can view the promotion but not the items. It also doesn't expose the nodes associated with the promotion or the item.

In short, we're stuck. We know that over 1,000 items have a 30% discount and can be listed and searched, but we lack the required node value to do this.

These deals are so bad, I'm almost offended they were posted as a "deal" and wasted my time lmao (no i still appreciate it Phoinix). So many things that are marked up from what they were previously during the 30% run in October and only given the 15% or 20% off treatment. The fact Amazon can has the audacity to promote even worse deals on the supposed "day of saving" tells a lot about our current state of enshittified affairs...

Here's what I do during these deals. First I pinpoint the items I'm looking for... for example today I was looking for an air fryer. Then I go to www.amazon.com/resale and I search, very simply... "air fryer." Then I look at all the available listings and eventually find one with the discount that I'm willing to try out. Once it's delivered, if it's not as decribed or defective I can always return within 30 days. In my experience 90% of Amazon Resale items are as described.

Huh? They were writing studies about this decades ago. This is nothing new, it was happening before Amazon existed.

resale items are wroth it sometimes as they are usually brand new items that were returned right away and never used
I purchased 2 different items that I found with the extra discount. Both were listed as like new. One has a big chip out of the side, and the other was missing parts. First time being burned on "like new".

I've has better luck on "very good" items compared to "like new". I just got a "very good" ethernet hub that was still sealed in the original packaging which arrived in better condition than some new items I've ordered. I then got a "like new" ice maker that was a very beat up Ninja Foodie. It's really a crap shoot, but worth the effort sometimes, since returns are relatively easy (although they've been getting more and more difficult). All in all I've scored to great deals with a little bit of effort.

It depends on your warehouse. For me Very Good means no original box, and put inside a plastic bag.

One time they didn't have the original manual so just printed a sheet of paper with the web link lol

I recently purchased an Apple Mac mini and a MacBook Air, both listed in Used – Like New condition. I'm hoping they arrive as described and truly feel like new. However, I've since learned that these "Used – Like New" products generally don't include a manufacturer's warranty and are only covered by Amazon's 30‑day return policy. At the same time, I've seen comments from other buyers saying they were able to register their devices with Apple and even add AppleCare. Has anyone here recently purchased an Amazon Resale Used – Like New Apple product and successfully received warranty coverage?

I am not seeing any discount beyond the warehouse prices. Any tips?
I'm Not seeing any additional 30% discount either. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I think it may have ended. The items I was looking at yesterday that had a discount, when I look at them today there's no longer any discount.

What's worth actually getting open box when you lose any warranty?
