Wow I bought this in September 2015 for $42 ($40-$50 was the going sale price for comparable units back then, $30-35 would make FP). 330W output is modest but I didn't have any desktops in my household (right now it's used for router/networks/FiOS, landline cordless phone, TV antenna amplifier, I have other units for NAS, DVR, security NVR, mesh network satellite unit, etc).

it houses a large 7Ah battery for long runtime (and you can replace it with a 9Ah of the same physical size), unlike many newer model from APC (and especially CyberPower) that have high output but small 5.5Ah batteries (replacement cost is about the same as 7Ah battery). Around 2007, people would keep buying new UPS with fat 7-8Ah battery for $25-35 with Staples/OM/OD coupon instead of replacing the battery.

Inflation is up ~ 35-40% In that time frame so not too surprising for discounted 70$ st this point. I might grab this for tv/dvr/modem location.

When i clicked on the Amazon link, it showed that i previously purchased this UPS November 27, 2009 (must have been black Friday back then). I bought 3 of them for $24.99 each! Unfortunately, I've thrown them out and bought new ones each Black Friday over the years since it was cheaper to buy new then replace the battery. But now the ones i have have the uncommon battery size so battery replacement is expensive.
