I somehow chipped a bone on my 2nd toe on my foot doing lunges from doing a tony horton exercise from one of his latest exercises on power nation. I thought my zero shoes that i just got were to blame and causing pain on my foot. So i stopped and didn't think much of it since... until recently when i kicked tennis ball with my foot for a dog to catch. I've had lingering foot pain that hasn't gone away. Got foot xray and doctor said i chipped bone/floating and recommended these shoes. Doubt kicking the ball did it, but the lunges I did years ago and somehow made it worse kicking the ball. Toe area on shoes are extra wide, kinda looks goofy, but super comfortable. My foot pain hasn't disappeared and going to do an mri to see if surgery might be needed. Crazy how you can chip a small bone fragment on around your toe. Not looking forward to dealing with this pain all my life if surgery or other options aren't available.

I hope they figure it out and I wish you a speedy recovery!

How are Hoka shoes? I really wasn't familiar with the brand at all until seeing it on an Australian show, but I like the appearance of a lot of what I saw. Are these comparable to Nike and Adidas in fit and quality? I really do want to try and a new brand but just want that same durability.
Read the reviews on their site (sort by most recent). Not good

They are comfortable but not durable especially the toe area

Far superior to both. Most comfortable pair of shoes I've owned. Go to any hospital and it's what most docs and nurses wear since they're on their feet all day. True to size.
They don't last more than a few months in a work environment, unfortunately. My friend really liked how they felt, the outsoles were completely gone after like 2 months.

This was a really hot brand 4 years ago. But now HOKA is associated EVA foam, poor durability, and being uncool.
