- State e-file fees: This credit can be applied toward the State e-file fees. Save time by e-filing your state return.
- State product. If you need to add other states beyond what your product includes(if any), you can purchase additional state products directly within TurboTax.
- Product upgrade. You can upgrade directly within TurboTax to another Desktop version and pick back up where you left off.
- Audit Defense. Full-service representation from a dedicated audit advisor in the case of an IRS audit or notice.
How it works
- Install TurboTax by following the steps provided in your delivery email. To activate your installed software, you will need to login to your Intuit Account or create one if you don't already have one.
- As you prepare your taxes, add one of the optional add-on paid features or services listed above.
- A $10 credit will be automatically applied to the first optional add-on feature or service purchased.
- Cannot be applied to TurboTax Online or TurboTax Live products and services.
- *Limited to one credit per license code and applies to first in-product add-on purchase only regardless of number of product installations.
- Credit may not show in your order receipt email, but your $10 credit will be applied to your final in-product purchase.
- Offer valid on TurboTax download product and product purchased in warehouse.
- Offer valid for Tax Year 2025 TurboTax Desktop products only and expires 4/30/26.

Update! When I declined up pops this second dialog saying it's a one-time offer and I can go back to desktop later. I found this reddit thread about the comparison and decided to stick with desktop because I often live in Forms mode and sounds like online can't do it. https://www.reddit.com/r/TurboTax...this

I'm waiting on the Amazon TurboTax deal!
IRS Direct File was a pilot program and cancelled but I read it was replaced by other IRS Free File options beginning in January 2026. Research them if you qualify.
