It's hardy in 8a but we're experiencing a cold snap right now. I would store in the basement temporarily and then plant in easily drained soil when the weather warms up a bit. Be sure to mulch around the base. If the temps drop again you can always cover the base with a tattered towel or burlap for added warmth.
