I try to post this helpful info when I see sales. (Refurbs may not get the free game or activation credit) **CURRENTLY $60 THROUGH DECEMBER 31ST**.

If you don't like the "free" games of the month you can hold off activating Meta+ for 3 months.

Games claimed for "free" through the subscription are only accessible with an active subscription.

$30 credit for those that use a friend link prior to device setup (it's a ban-able offense on SD to post/request such links but check Reddit)

ALL SALES ARE TARGETED meaning they could offer 50% off to one account and no sale for another.

When buying games check for developer links to save a flat 15-20% when there is no active sale on the game.

You're going to want a better strap and there's 2 or 3 great options for under $100. Some have hot swap batteries.(examples kiwi, globular, boboVR)

If you have glasses or a stigmatism there are snap on prescription lenses for $20 on sites or $50 direct from Meta.

The max credit you can attain per year is $599 (anything $600+ is taxable)

The 4th gen headset is expected 2026/2027

There's free 3rd party software like OcularMigraine that improves visuals at the cost of battery life. Others like Quest Games Optimizer have a price associated along with permissions.

The games with PCVR need the Meta app for PC and many others recommend Virtual Desktop when on sale.

You do not need to link FB/IG to your account can use a normal email account.

If you mess up the $30 link you have 7 days to click a $30 link and factory reset your headset and go through initial setup to get it. Otherwise you need a good bit of personal info from the other person for support to process it. Sometimes there's a promo for $60 credit so check the app.

I'm sure there is info I forgot like there's no crossbuy and if you see it that means it gives you a Meta PC copy you need the app to play.

360 videos through the YouTube app are not true 4K and should be downloaded to view uncompressed.

Rechargeable batteries for the controllers are a must as they take 1 AA each.

Activate 2 factor authentication and set a pin for purchases to minimize accidents. There is a small return window for purchases but YMMV with support.

Those with GeForceNow can use it with the headset but the experience is not amazing yet.

Do NOT expose headset or lenses to direct or reflected sunlight (use a cover)

If you owned a Quest2 and purchase a Quest3 you may still be able to get the $30 activation credit.

Do NOT leave the headset charging for hours unsupervised or with 3rd party plugs/cables

Always read reviews as Most Recent and check online for in depth reviews.

I've accidentally punched my headset during a vr workout and thankfully it was fine but mind your surroundings.

Meta+ is not needed to use the headset (my 3 month trial ran out)

Only use a dry microfiber cloth to clean your lenses or risk removing the anti glare coating

Batman game extended through December 2026 (May be available to you pending package image)

I own a Quest 3

I have two teenage boys. I know the 3 is the best, but we are new to VR and wouldn't know what we are missing, so I'm trying to decide if it's better to buy one 3 for them to share, or 2x 3S headsets so they can play together. I cant afford 2x 3's and not sure I would want to dump that kind of money anyway before being assured they won't eventually be dust collectors. My teens are close and get along well. How much multiplayer material is available for them to play? Or are most of the good games single player anyway?

I recommend 2x Quest 3s.
As a first time VR user, they'll be blown away by modern VR, as long as they aren't especially sensitive to motion sickness (everyone is to some degree, but can acclimate).

Unlike games played on a TV or monitor, you can't easily see what someone in VR is seeing. It would be a huge bummer if your boys had to take turns, and even worse if they missed out on the multiplayer games.

A single Quest 3 would give you better image clarity, like going from wearing glasses to not needing glasses, but you'd quickly need to get a second Quest 3 to allow the boys to play together.

I have 3 teens... and 3 brothers.

So I assume meta app for PC is free right,
Can I use the credits to get the virtual desktop?

Ingot the 3S for free from my ISP over the summer but haven't set it up yet,
What should I do to get the maximum free games and credits?

I have no idea about any of this and I got it mainly because I hear it can be used to play regular PC games with my PC
Which should handle it
12th gen i7 and 3080ti FTW

I don't even know where to start

Spend the extra and get the 3. The 3 has better lenses, higher resolution, and color cameras with much better augmented reality experience. You can save up for another quest 3s or 3 later, or wait for quest 4 to come out.

Buy one, the 3. My guess is they will fight over it the first week however as the newness factor wears off, it'll be collecting dust by this time next year.

I own all 3 Quests, still using Quest 2. The difference between 3 and 3s is the lens they use. The quest 2 still works fine, plays games smooth. The 3s is an upgrade to the quest 2 with same cpu/gpu as quest 3 as other member mentioned they will be blown away by new tech, last thing you want is them fighting over one headset, they will be fine on 3s and better experience if they both can join games together. Also you can stream the VR to your phone or TV so you can monitor their interactions if that is a concern. If that's what you can afford go for 2x3s
