Totally get where you're coming from. On paper, an "all-in-one" machine with a built-in grinder seems like the better value. But for anyone who's serious about espresso, separating the grinder from the machine isn't a downside—it's actually one of the biggest advantages.
Here's a few reasons why:

In espresso, the grinder is half the quality equation. A good burr grinder gives you particle uniformity and precise micro-adjustments. Most built-in grinders (even on $700–$1,000 machines) simply can't match the consistency of a standalone.
With an integrated-grinder machine, once the grinder burns out or the burrs dull, the whole unit is compromised. With a separate grinder + Bambino Plus, you can upgrade one piece at a time over the years instead of replacing an entire machine.
Espresso needs tiny adjustments based on bean age, roast level, humidity, etc. Standalone grinders offer far more grind steps and control. Built-ins usually have limited adjustment, which becomes limiting fast if you drink espresso daily.
The Bambino Plus punches way above its class with the ThermoJet system and one of the best milk steamers under $1,000. Most "fully featured" machines in the same price bracket focus on convenience, not espresso/milk quality.
For people who just want push-button espresso, all in ones are fine. For people who want cafe-level shots, consistent crema, and real microfoam, a machine like the Bambino Plus paired with a solid burr grinder wins every time.
So the difference isn't about the Breville name. It's about flexibility, consistency, longevity, and the ability to grow with your skill and taste. Two-piece setups are the standard in cafés for the same reason. FWIW, I thought Nespresso was heaven about 5 years ago and I dont even know where that contraption is now in my garage. Tastes evolve and there is technique lovers so there are products for everyone…

Any specific recommendations for an all-in-one machine? I too prefer the grinder be built in.
Breville Barista Express is also on sale and has a built in grinder. You still have to prep the puck and stuff. There's still a gap in convenience between this and super automatics, some will tamp the puck for you, some will just straight up dispense espresso. If you just want convenience, probably want to look into super automatics vs a 2in1. Shot quality will generally be lower though

Just saying: near this price point, there are automatic machines from Phillips.
And you will get a lower quality espresso from it. Just depends on if you want convenience at a lower price, or a higher quality product. Also with a separate machines if one breaks, you can fix or get a new one without having to replace the whole system.

Sweet, used the 20% cash back for PayPal on this. Was originally going to get a regular Bambino but I really want that Sea Salt White color!

To each of their own. The automatic espresso machines are not necessarily *always* inferior. I used to do things by hand and then I found sometimes the automatic ones (after the break in period) was beating my quality.
You may be an expert and always surpass automatic ones; but I could not keep my consistency and got beat.

Again, just personal prefs.

Thanks

Trust me my friend. Built in grinder usually sucks. It may look convenient. But it is always better to have separate machine/device for different purposes.
Then, think about the ability to upgrade.

Outstanding beginner machine. I wouldn't consider anything else under $500 for people new to espresso. Grab a good grinder and you're set.
Bambino (non plus) is still good though? Also currently on sale for 250ish.

If you bought with a credit card, you might have an extended warranty from them as well. Credit warranties have saved my bacon on some electronics failing beyond a year.

Which super automatic are you using? I have this Bambino Plus and haven't found a super automatic machine that produces espresso nearly as good. Not saying that great super automatic machines don't exist, just haven't found one yet.

+1 to what many have said, probably best bang for your buck at this price.

Picked one up last year at the same price before tariffs, so it's in theory a better deal today

Exactly this . I have this machine with a Turin grinder and my drinks rival that of cafes' .
Good grinder , freshly roasted coffee beans help you win more than half of the battle even with a basic machine . And this machine punches above its weight . I got this machine from BBB for around 200 bucks and I've stopped going to coffee shops for my coffee .

I have this plus a Sette 270 grinder. Its been a great set up for the last few years at 2-3 drinks per day. Auto frothing for my wife and manual frothing for me. My one complaint is I can't really use a bottomless portafilter with this. Something about the pressure makes espresso spray everywhere. Still super tasty shots and good crema with a normal espresso portafilter (the one it comes with or many others). I don't know what I'd upgrade to without spending at least $1.5k-2k at this point.
