Anyone have experience with these super crema pods? I wasn't a fan of the lavazza maestro variety pack I tried a couple years ago, but I've never tried the super crema.

Don't forget to read the reviews. Looks like compatibility problems with machine very frequent.

Some of the reviews are for Lavazza "Blue" pods which are used in a different machine. Other reviews are for when Lavazza was using plastic pods and have since changed to aluminum. But, there are still some negative reviews. I've never had a bad experience with the aluminum pods other than not liking the taste, but I'm curious if anyone has tried this flavor?

I do and don't recommend. It's too weak for me. If you like strong and rich espresso go with Starbucks Espresso Roast https://a.co/d/iEOfA29 or Starbucks Italian Roast https://a.co/d/h6QO1oL. Those are my favorite.

I've gotten many other Lavazza pods but not the Super Crema. I don't even recall seeing them until fairly recently. The funny thing is that Super Crema whole beans are among the best I've used in my Breville espresso machine, as they're non-oily and pretty strong.

I should add one bit of advice that I got here on SD, and that might conceivably help those who've had bad experiences with Lavazza pods (including weakness). I used to do my own "hacks" witih Lavazza aluminum pods to overcome occasional difficulties with leakage or with excess hot water coming through before the espresso drink. But the best trick has been to make 3 puncture holes on the non-foil (aluminum) end of the capsule just before use. I space them out so that if the capsule end were a clock face, the holes would be at 12 o'clock, 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock.

I haven't had any problems with capsules collapsing or water leaking since I started doing that. But again, I haven't tried it with the Super Crema, and it should be noted that the price here isn't really all that low for Lavazza capsules.

I just used these for the first time in a while last week. I only use my Nespresso when traveling and got these on sale. They have changed to aluminum caps, so they are much better than they used to be.

A few of mine were a bit dented with the packaging on the outside being in good shape. This caused 2 from the box of 40 to not work.

I drink Super Crema in my Philips machine most of the time. These are much weaker, and I would not recommend them. I have had much better luck with the L'or or the Peets if you are looking for stronger espresso.

I found a solution that fixes this.. I pierce the bottom of the capsule with a nail or corn cobb holder before putting into my Nespresso Machine.. have one of the original style machines. It takes an extra step, but I have a corn cobb holder in the drawer below my coffee machine.

I don't think it is "also". Probably Walmart was first and then Amazon is matching the price.

Thank you for the hack. Repped. I occasionally run into issues with these pods not puncturing and the pod becoming unusable being crushed.
