  • 24/7 Instant Alarms: Set preset temperature ranges, and the WiFi freezer thermometer will alert you via app when the temperature rises or drops outside of the range. The freezer temperature alarm ensures a stable connection to maintain food and equipment safety. (2.4Ghz WiFi Only)
  • Monitor Temperature Anywhere: Keep track of temperature data in real-time from anywhere with the GoveeLife's APP without subscription fee. The WiFi gateway supports pairing up to 10 sensors. And you need to connect to the gateway for APP remote alarm. If you need more freezer alarm sensors, please search ASIN:B0CLB3BTSG.
  • Upgrade Accuracy Probe: The freezer temperature monitor's wide measuring range of -40° to 158°F with ±0.9°F / 0.5°C accuracy and 2s fast refresh to ensure the data is reliable. The probes and cables are slim and sturdy, allowing flexibility to fit in the refrigerator or freezer. Our fridge thermometers bring convenience to your life!
  • Smart Anti-False Alarm: The anti-false alarm allows the freezer alarm to notify you after 1-10 mins of temperature overrun. Prevent falsely triggering the alarm when opening the refrigerator to take food. And it notifies to remind you to change the battery when it's low.
  • Easy to Place: The unique holder reduces messy cables and better secures the probe inside the freezer. With the design of magnet and lanyard, you can also monitor the temp in fish tanks, hot tubs, usw. The LCD display makes it easy to view the temperature directly.
  • 2 Years Free Data Storage: The wifi Refrigerator thermometer support online viewing of data graphs and export of data recorded over the past 2 years. Ideal for commercial grade, lab, and home use. You can send the fridge temperature monitor as a holiday gift to your parents and friends! Note that the device itself does not sound an alarm.

I have this and it saved me 3/4 of a beef literally 3 days after installing it when the thermostat went bad on my deep freezer. Worth every penny and some. Easy to set up and works consistently.

I was hoping someone would comment about it being used in a deep freezer. I don't want to lose $3k of beef due to my freezer going bad!

Read the reviews people before buying... A lot of issue with the cable exiting the freezer, this is sort of corrected on the newer version of this... whcih is not on sale. So maybe we are just suckers on slickdeals buying these defunct unit with cable issues.

just get an ecowitt hub for $20 with a WH31 sensor

the 900mhz broadcast cuts through anything and the wifi hub uploads to various services and has a free web view and app

they have sales from time to time and I even got a spare WH31 sensor for just $6 off amazon haul (bazaar)

These don't have audible alarms on the sensor, unlike the govee sensors without displays. If you're not near your phone with the app installed you won't get the alarm. Very disappointed in these sensors for that reason.

Thanks for this very helpful information. For my application an audible alarm on the sensor is essential.

For how long do you freeze the beef? I have read that it's only good for about a year. I know it's still edible after that, but the texture is off eventually.

Since a lot of people might be thinking of using these in a garage freezer - I bought the non-display version of these and they have completely ruined my ability to reliably open/close my garage door remotely. Apparently they must operate on the same frequency, so just be aware!

even better, get the accurite sensors. They're 433hz which can be brought into homeassistant with a usb dongle, and have a convient display for the side of the fridge/freezer

Since a lot of people
there are wireless models you can leave inside the freezer (no wire)
the one i use connects over bluetooth i use to a phone app 10m away
which holds history just to confirm the freezer is defrosting regularly.

i agree it would be better to wait for a sale
on a model that claims to signal from inside.
i want to buy a set like OP
i just don't want a wire over the freezer seal
no matter how thin it seems to be.

If you have Home Assistant, I'd suggest just using Govee's regular Bluetooth models. I stick one in the fridge and one in the freezer. The batteries last 3+ months so it's not much of a hassle. This way there are no cables going in/out of the fridge seals.
In HA, I set notifications on low batteries, high temp in freezer, high temp in fridge... I also put a power monitor on the fridge and have HA alert on unusually high or low power usage.
My fridge actually broke last year, and I caught it through power monitoring. I didn't even have alerts set up. I just happened to pull up the graphs one day, and was like WTF, why is electricity consumption going up every day?! It pulled more and more power until it was running 24/7 and temperature started slowly rising. Catching it early gave me a week of it working, which allowed me to eat/save all my food.
After that experience, I went looking for more proactive notifications...
