Walmart has the Apple iPhone 15 Plus for 36 monthly payments of $8.31 through AT&T, which comes out to $300 for the phone itself. That doesn't include service or activation, but I guess that depends on whether you have them already or not. You can typically pay off the 36 installments sometime after the activation without penalty, so I usually just pay it all off sometime afterwards.

The regular iPhone 15 also has the same price if you prefer that size, and all the prices are the same for the various storage options, but I figure the iPhone 15 Plus with 512GB is the best bang for the buck. At the time of this posting, the colors for 512GB are blue, green, and yellow. More colors are available at the lower storage options.

I don't post often since I'm usually slow at finding deals, so I hope someone finds this useful.

What's the cheapest plan I can get with this phone and how long do I need to keep that plan to get this unlocked?

Do you need to keep 60 days of service to unlock it?

Can one just never activate it and still pay that amount? Wouldn't mind a second iPhone to use for Pokémon go. It can be hotspots to my 16 pro, so don't care if it's locked or not.

There is a similar deal for t-mobile. I currently have a grandfathered t-mobile plan that isn't eligible for most promotions and I don't even see an option for tmobile upgrade here. Would it be an option to make a new plan and then pay it off and transfer to my current plan? (locked to tmobile would be fine)

This require the sim swap trick, which worked for physical sim. Since ip15 is esim only, not sure whether it is possible. It is going to be much more troublesome at least?
