Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.
That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

When you click on the plan, in the "Broadband Facts" section (probably on the left of the web page), click on "Expand label", there is a section for "Data included with Monthly Price". For most people, it clearly stated it is Unlimited.
There is no footnote or anything that indicate it is capped.
That is for the cell phone mobile data.

I can understand for people that don't need mobile line, why to pay activation fee. But, is there any other catch/reason?
I am actually in need of a mobile line, in addition to the internet service, so this is very tempting. I am ok to pay mobile activation fee if it's going to mean full year of free service. And yes, I will be more than happy to move that mobile elsewhere (while keeping the internet service with them) when 12 months expires. Or, will they not let me port out just that mobile line elsewhere?
Also, any experience with Tethering on this Unlimited mobile plan?
