It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

I was able to get this by creating a new account....but my stupid self made all the information (phone number, email address, etc.) the same as my existing account. I was able to get the service activated somehow (but I had to call them do get the modem provisioned) but I have no way to view my account information for the new plan. Any way to fix this?
I am also in this boat. I have no idea how to get access to the new account now. Every time I try to log in it shows only the old account. We're you able to get this figured out?

Go to the accounts tab on mobile app, scroll to the bottom, click Switch accounts. It will show you both accounts to choose from.

I already have Xfinity mobile service at a different location. I'm being told that if I transfer my phone line from my current location to the new account, this doesn't constitute as a new line. I assumed since I didn't have service here previously that it would count as a new line. Is the rep confused or am I out of luck?

No, I believe the rep is correct. If you transfer the line between xfinity accounts, it's not a new line. If you want to take advantage of the 1-year free line on the new account using your old number, you could probably port your existing number out to a different provider first (a temporary prepaid service, for example) and then port it in when setting up the new free line. I believe you have 90 days to activate the free line from xfinity after signing up for the internet plan, so that should give you some wiggle room in terms of timing.

Does anyone know if the modem/router comes with this plan works with ring system? My ring cameras couldn't connect to their wifi gateways of model XB8 and above in the past. Switching to XB7 and lower models solved the issue.

You mean cancel the mobile line? No, the internet price doesn't have anything do with the mobile line. The internet price is good for 5 years regardless of whether you keep the mobile line or not.

No, there's no contract. Take a look at the offer. The screenshot on the OP and the info on the link clearly say: "No contract. No commitment."

In the beginning once you select the plan -- click on the cart icon at the bottom and a pop up window opens
