It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

Please, advice. I signed up this new promotion with free Modem/ Router build in. I ran internet speed test and it hit 1GB download speed from the Xfinity Modem . Unfortunately, currently i am using Mesh system decoMeshM9Plus and can only get half download speed from the mesh system. My question is should i purchase my own modem or buy another mesh system? Thanks in advance.

Put the xfinity gateway in bridge mode if you want to use your own router.
How are they connected? Test speeds wired only.

Has anyone successfully ported their mobile line/lines out to another service and then back in to take advantage of the free line promotion? I've completed the whole internet and cable conversion to the new account, but I was just told by an xfinity agent that their system will recognize the phone number as a previous mobile customer and won't allow the promotion to apply. I'm hoping that's only the case if it's under the same account number.

Anyone with Xfinity Mobile do this as an existing customer? I did the whole process of logging into my existing account at the end and got the confirmation emails for the gigabit service. Currently have 150mbps and two mobile phone lines. Haven't activated it yet as I want to make sure thee two phone lines won't get locked out when my old internet plan is cancelled or deactivated.

Edit: Just logged in and see the "new" account but seem to have lost access to the Xfinity Mobile site so I can't even see my two lines anymore. Wonderful.
Edit 2: Finally got to this message We're restoring your account details to reflect changes to your account, such as a recent move to a new address. Check back in a few days to access all your information.

Did this deal just today. I had 400/150 for $25 before which I would have liked to keep but it was expiring in March, so I hoped on this $50 for 1gbps/100mbps.
It did create a second account, chat rep moved the modem from my old account to New account but couldn't cancel the old account. I went to Comcast store and they cancelled it for me.

Cancel before last paid Service Date. Need look at top of bill to see last Service Dates are paid till on previous month bills.

If go past last paid service day on previous bill they make you pay for whole month upfront and prorated refund after 45 days.
