No special marking about clearance prices. I just went and asked the Tool department associate and they offered 50% off the lowest price.

Do these qualify for their limited lifetime warranty, or basic 5 yr warranty? Google AI seems to say no.

That's a good question. But if they're "new" and come in a box, and are sold at Lowe's I can't see why they wouldn't.

What location was this? I was at Lowe's today picking up a separate order from last week's bonanza and asked if the display models will be marked down and I got a shrugdon'tknow from the associate.

Looks like OP's tool didn't come boxed but I didn't see demo/display wording on OP's receipt pic either so not sure how FLEX would even know? Unless Lowe's indicate this in the backend system and somehow FLEX is made aware, seeing how closely they did business together including FLEX's parent company Chervon making many Lowe's exclusive Kobalt tools. Might be worth asking the store.

I successfully registered the tool on the flex website. The only info required to register is a copy of receipt and a serial number that is located on the tool.

Maybe they were told not to sell till after the lifetime warranty offer expires at the end of the month(unless they extend it again)

If that's the case that's incredibly shady, I hope not. Either way, I ended up going to another Lowe's and picked up a display model sander. I feel like I overpaid for it at 79 though.

$79 is the current online price. Display model should be 50% off that price per OP. Otherwise just order online new in box. Also some display models would be missing accessories like a router which comes with multiple accessories so factor those into the price.

The sander showed unavailable for both pickup and delivery in my area. OP got an excellent deal getting 50% off the marked price. I've been to four different Lowe's in the last 5 days, none of them offered any sort of discount of the marked price, even when asked. All four had a 50% off clearance sign in the Flex aisle, but the sign indicated "prices as marked".

I see. Most current online prices are higher than pre-BF sales. But they're mostly still cheaper than anywhere else. So if none are available near you, this is still a good deal with lifetime warranty. Don't forget to register online.
