It doesn't have FORCED sponsered ADS YET, ... so just be aware, the echo show 5 and echo show 8 NOW have sponsered ADS that can NOT be stopped. And they become Billboards in your room. A few years ago, the echo show 5/8 didn't have Forced Sponsered ADS, so be careful.
The echo dots don't have sponsered ads, and so far this device doesn't seem like they have them. If you don't mind Forced Sponsered ADS, ... it probably is "good" to be aware of the current change in Amazon management. Amazon is pushing Companies to advertize on these Amazon devices. I like my echo dots, but I am also aware of the direction the company is going in.
