- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.
While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).

Rep offered trade in of old Samsung A71 ($150 off if we want to keep our One Plan; She offered much bigger credit if we switched plans, but the other plans were much more per line per month plus add taxes+fees) for iPhone16e for net $450. iPhone 16 for net $580. Iphone 17 (not pro) for net $680. I forgot to ask about 17PRO. No change to monthly rates. $35 activation fee for each new phone.... I could not get her to wave it like others have posted they got. I'll call back to get another rep and see.
UPDATE: Nope... no waive or credit for the $35 activation fee... My account is not offered such waiver or credit. On each repeated inquiry, the various reps said to keep our OnePlan because they cannot match that rate with the features. So, I'm going to just pay for the iPhone 17, net $680 after the $150 tradein for the old Samsung A71.... I'm late to the Apple Ecosystem party... First iPhone for me to join the rest of family with iPhones.
SO tempted to switch to Verizon for the new iPhone 17 Pro deal... but the net cost for the plan was about $$39.29/line per month when you add the taxes. $235.74/month for three years, but not sure about quality of connection, reliability, service as some have posted this basic plan can be slow.... some even said maybe should not be used as the "main lines" ... But no one else wants or needs a new iPhone and they don't want to switch from Tmobile, so missing out on the great phone deal by Verizon.... sigh.
UPDATE: I went to Costco TMobile Kiosk and traded in my Samsung A71 for $150 credit to stay on my grandfathered OnePlan with Tmobile. Got the iPhone 17 (not the PRO) for 830 - 150 = 680. But I get a $100 Costco gift card, so down to $580. Plus the waived the $35 activation fee.

Yeah, that TMobile $5 increase per line was a bummer... I'm on the old One Plan which is pretty nice with five original lines + one free line for base price of $185/mo and includes taxes and fees (about $9/line value for S. California), and $7 credit toward NetFlix Standard (we pay extra net $11/mo on top of the $185 base for the Netflix)... There is a $10/line "kickback" credit for two of the lines if they use less than 2GB in the month, which works out perfectly for two of the lines. But if they go over 2GB, that adds another $!0/line... or $205/month total for the six lines. We like the quality of connection, reliability, and Tmobile service.
