It sounds pretty slick on paper, just keep in mind some considerations:

- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.

While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).

It's equivalent to most Verizon-based MVNOs and Visible's lowest tier.
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.

Here's the taxes for my CA city if anyone's interested

Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29

It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

This is accurate. Pro Max on Unlimited welcome will get less phone credits, it drops from $28.34 to $23.34. So that $5 drop shifts to you to pay; $10/month

I chose the mid-tier plan and was able to get the activation fee waived by calling and saying I planned to port my numbers back to T-Mobile within 12 hours of signing up. They also offered me a $20 per month credit for each line. My bill dropped from $267 per month to $110 per month including taxes. There was no way I would have stayed at $267, especially since T-Mobile was $150 on the old Military 1.0 plan. This included 4 new phones 2-iPhone 17 and 2-S25U along with 1 Apple Watch Ultra 3.
so you ported 4 lines over from TMO - did you get all these discounts?
$20/month National Discount
$20/month "Better" discount
$45/month discount

Trying to understand your math of how you got from $267 to $110?

There was another 20.00 discount for 12 months per linr per month. So I saved $100.00 per month for all five lines, 45.00 per month better discount and 20.00!national discount.

After a series of chats and calls, I got my first bill now. It shows a wooping ~$400 apparently cause it included activation fee (I got 5 lines w/ one max, though I did get activation waived and shows up as credit instead). This is after auto-pay 10$, 20$ national discount, and 25$ from the AI bill. The surcharge and tax looks extremely high on the first bill, and turns out my 2nd bill has neg charge on them which roughly avgs out the first (i.e first bill was $17 for one line, 2nd bill is -$3, expected monthly charge is around $7 per line). I did end up getting an extra 300$ credit applied (not sure if that's the GC?) + 200$ from activation fee, so effectively I actually don't have to pay for the first 2 months bill. My ongoing estimate is around $145 after taxes for 5 lines.

Get used to bills like this if you change or add anything. Even if it's temporary change. For example switching plans to cover international travel.

Tried to replicate the below discounts at two different stores as well and wasn't able to. The rep said they've tried stacking these discounts in the system when the 4 for 100 promo first went live and the system will automatically remove the unstackable discounts. He said $45 was the max "closer" discount they can give in the system, forcing them to choose the best one.
In the end I just ended up porting 5x lines from Tmobile, 1x BYOD free ($30 additional monthly discount) and 4x Welcome plan. Which ends up being $150-$45-$30=$75 monthly + tax. Not too bad of a deal being that I got 4x new 17 pros and my Tmobile Magenta I was paying 185 for 5x lines (have 2 additional free lines but i havent found a use for them). Will probably try to call in VZ to see if a rep can replicate these discounts. The store rep did warn that shifting the discounts around might cause you to lose them and will be a pain the get it back
$20/month National Discount
$20/month "Better" discount
$45/month discount
has anyone successfully been able to get the $20 "Better" discount in addition to the $45 one? If so, what was your approach and what things did you have to say?

You need to have a better plan to get the better discount. I uploaded my t-mobile plan which was $80 for four lines

They beat this, new bill is between 60-70 after taxes and auto-pay for four lines.

which plan was that from TMO? I feel like because I have other things on my latest bill (ex - last EIP payoff, equipment protection for one line, etc) that this muddies the waters. i tried to explain that to the person yesterday but didnt seem to register...

Is this $20 'better' or $45 'promo' monthly credit only for T-Mo or AT&T billing users? or can you use a Mint/Cricket/other bill upload to match?

Hi guys. Thanks to all the great comments on this post I was able to get a wonderful deal. I did get the -45, -20 national, -20 better deal. I also did one BYOD line for a free line which is -30. So in the end, my bill is $66 after taxes in CA with four iphone 17 pros and five lines w/ 36mo credit. In the first month there is an extra $10 charge per line so like 110 for me. The key was walking out of stores that aren't willing to take your tmobile bill for an AI scan. Thank you for all the helpful comments and hope my comment helps someone as well.

After chatting with a rep last night about a military discount, I noticed that she added a travel pass plan to 2 lines on the account that I didn't ask for. It says they won't charge for them unless I travel but I think they changed the plan so that they could remove some discounts. For instance, I did the port trick and it seemingly worked. I received a text telling me how much I would have to pay for the phones if I canceled and how sorry they would be to see me go. The next part of the text had an offer for $20 discount for each eligible line for a year and that I would see it on the 2nd bill so I said yes and snagged it. I didn't see this on my account so I called to verify it They kept me on hold for close to an hour. I think they were removing those discounts and adding those travel passes onto my account to justify those changes. The Military discount seems to be gone as well. They did add a $20 discount for 12 months on one line but that's it.

So update from my first call:
I was able to get all three discounts:
$20/month National Discount
$20/month "Better" discount
$45/month discount

I think the key is the person has to be inside sales. The person wouldnt budge on the $300 bill credit but said it was not their dept and I would have to call CS and ask. Since the first agent offered it to me, hopefully I am good. She also said she would waive activation fees but seemed not as committal to this towards the end. If anyone has advise for the $300 and activation fees, let me know. Hope this helps!

So this $25/line and free phones looks like a decent deal to me. Anyone have any experience with this promotion going with 2 S25+ and 2 iPhone 17 Pros instead of 4 of a single brand? The online agent said it could be done and they would waive activation fees. When I read the information on the deals it states they can not be combined with others. Do you guys think this is legit, or will they likely cancel the promo and hit me with tons of charges?

got the first bill and already unhappy. they misquoted on taxes and fees. quoted me $7 per line and its charged $10 per line.
also did not get the autopay discount for the first month, maybe because I activated one week after getting the phones. could've at least pro-rated the discount as I enrolled in it the first day after activating.
