- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.
While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.

CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29
It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

Do these credits get applied later, or is there a different process for how they are issued? Does anyone know how this typically works?
Only have 1 line active as the others are getting shipped
Only got the deal as described in original post. Ported over from Xfinity and Mint so no additional $65/month.
It doesn't actually matter if you ordered lines 1 by 1. Any lines you purchased can be submitted through the rebate center (www.yourdigital
Whether you can get 4 gift cards validated on 1 account, we'll see in early Feb.
In store they say they can't do the 300$ or activation fees waived and online can't do the better deal promotion

I called 1-800-711-3400 on 12/30 (shoutout to @exbauer for the #) and let the agent know I was aware of this promo and interested in switching my 4 lines from T-mobile. Also let him know I'd heard that additional discounts could be stacked and wanted to confirm with him to help make my decision.
I mentioned the "$45 Better Deal Closer aka Switcher aka BVG", "$20 Better Deal", "$20 National Discount", waived activation fees and the $300 GC. He acknowledged all and said we could move forward if I uploaded my bill and did a soft credit check. I was targeting the Ultimate Plus, and with all discounts, he quoted $123.84/month. I asked him if there was anything else to "sweeten the pot" a bit more, because that was pretty on par with my T-mobile payment. He bumped the $300 GC to $500 and said they'd do it as a bill credit instead of a GC - supposedly got his manager's approval while we were talking. Didn't budge on any other asks like streaming/device upgrades. Also no upselling whatsoever.
I knew the phones were back ordered and presumed the promo was ending soon, so didn't want to risk missing out by trying the strategy of adding lines one at a time in hopes of getting more gift cards. FWIW, he mentioned it'd be ending w/in 10 days, but said he couldn't be more specific than that. I moved forward with dummy #s and will port when I have all devices in hand.
Here's the breakdown for 4 lines on Unlimited Plus w/ iPhone 17pro 256gb devices:
$55/month x 4 = $220 - $20 National - $40 Auto Pay - $20 Better Deal - $45 Better Deal Closer = $95/month + $28.84 taxes (in CA) = $123.84/month for 36 months.
He gave his direct # and said to text him when I received devices so he could waive the activation ($160) and apply the $500 bill credit. Sent me a link to sign the paperwork and pay the $462 in device taxes. I activated the CB plugin, but doesn't look like it tracked at all. Whole transaction took about 45 minutes.
Happy New Year, All!
Edit: My FIL signed up via chat a day before I did. He asked about the Switcher and Better Deal and was told they didn't exist. Was never asked to upload his bill. Unfortunately, he didn't bail on the rep and moved forward anyway. He already has 3 of 4 devices in hand and ported during sign-up. If anyone knows if/how we can get those applied for him after the fact, please share! Thanks!

just checking to see if any one was able to change to unlimited plus after enrolling in welcome plan and able to freeze the rates for 3 years?

Curious if you or anyone has been able to see their projected bill yet and see the discounts? I'm having issues with my account but will try again tonight.
I tried to do the port out pin thing and I saw the offer for $20 but did not get the text. I still have not ported my service over from my old carrier so wonder if that has something to do with it?
Also, does anyone know if Autopay can be applied to first months bill to get the discounts? Seems like it cant?
