It sounds pretty slick on paper, just keep in mind some considerations:

- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.

While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).

It's equivalent to most Verizon-based MVNOs and Visible's lowest tier.
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.

Here's the taxes for my CA city if anyone's interested

Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29

It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

hi, quick question about backorder:
order at 12/30 (online, says ship dec 31-jan 16), 12/31 called Phone Support (Internet Order Team) 866-338-7390, CSR says ship at jan 16, but created a ticket will escalate, as of today 1/2, no shipment email.
my question is: do I need keep calling or online chat to escalate shipping? so do I need call or chat again today? how long wait from order to ship, share your story? appreciate.

Ok, please share updates on how it goes. I now have like 3 promises from different agents too for the activation waive and 300 bill credit but no sign of them!

Rest of my on-going bill looks pretty good though.

I used three different portals: two most popular ones starting with R, and portal for points with credit card company starting in C. Used clean edge browser for all. The one starting with R and has 10 in name tracked in an hour, that was first line. Perfect. The cc ones also tracked. The other starting starting in R did not, at all, yet...
All of them have now came through 👍

If you are an existing customer on Verizon DPP, the offer does not require a trade-in in
If you are new to Verizon and have DPP from another carrier, to pay off your DPP from another carrier, it is required to purchase a new phone from Verizon and turn in the phone from another carrier

wow - i didnt know this. so for future reference, if the new carrier offers to pay off your old device, you have to trade that one in if they pay off your EIP?

All I can say is I can't wait for my 60 day unlock so I can return to what is supposed to be the worst provider ever. Atleast there my bill was the same every month and I would spend at most an hour on the phone or an hour on live chat. Verizon it takes atleast 45 minutes for them to pick up the phone. So tired.
How much you paid and u should pay if get out in 60 days

Sharing my recent experience in hopes it helps someone.

I called 1-800-711-3400 on 12/30 (shoutout to @exbauer for the #) and let the agent know I was aware of this promo and interested in switching my 4 lines from T-mobile. Also let him know I'd heard that additional discounts could be stacked and wanted to confirm with him to help make my decision.

I mentioned the "$45 Better Deal Closer aka Switcher aka BVG", "$20 Better Deal", "$20 National Discount", waived activation fees and the $300 GC. He acknowledged all and said we could move forward if I uploaded my bill and did a soft credit check. I was targeting the Ultimate Plus, and with all discounts, he quoted $123.84/month. I asked him if there was anything else to "sweeten the pot" a bit more, because that was pretty on par with my T-mobile payment. He bumped the $300 GC to $500 and said they'd do it as a bill credit instead of a GC - supposedly got his manager's approval while we were talking. Didn't budge on any other asks like streaming/device upgrades. Also no upselling whatsoever.

I knew the phones were back ordered and presumed the promo was ending soon, so didn't want to risk missing out by trying the strategy of adding lines one at a time in hopes of getting more gift cards. FWIW, he mentioned it'd be ending w/in 10 days, but said he couldn't be more specific than that. I moved forward with dummy #s and will port when I have all devices in hand.

Here's the breakdown for 4 lines on Unlimited Plus w/ iPhone 17pro 256gb devices:
$55/month x 4 = $220 - $20 National - $40 Auto Pay - $20 Better Deal - $45 Better Deal Closer = $95/month + $28.84 taxes (in CA) = $123.84/month for 36 months.

He gave his direct # and said to text him when I received devices so he could waive the activation ($160) and apply the $500 bill credit. Sent me a link to sign the paperwork and pay the $462 in device taxes. I activated the CB plugin, but doesn't look like it tracked at all. Whole transaction took about 45 minutes.
Happy New Year, All!

Edit: My FIL signed up via chat a day before I did. He asked about the Switcher and Better Deal and was told they didn't exist. Was never asked to upload his bill. Unfortunately, he didn't bail on the rep and moved forward anyway. He already has 3 of 4 devices in hand and ported during sign-up. If anyone knows if/how we can get those applied for him after the fact, please share! Thanks!
Could you please send me the rep phone number as well? Thanks!
