Get the US General version from Harbor Freight. The Kobalt one is not as nice. The USG uses real ball bearing slides, comes with drawer liners and is a heavier steal.

I can vouch for the HF US General mini toolbox. I just picked up another after liking my first one so much. It has:

Smooth drawer action with magnetic closures
Lid that stays open at 90 degrees
Soft liners (great for tooling & metrology tools)
Permanent rubber feet/bumpers that aren't just stuck on with adhesive
Good paint quality & fit/finish (at least on the Slate Gray ones I got)

Right now with the 'extended black friday sale' coupons - $12.99 for the 'OG' colors and $14.99 for the 3 new ones. 100% worth it.

Another vote for the harbor freight version. I see this one claims to have ball bearings, but unless they made a brand new version, the one I tried in the Lowe's store was just junky and loose fitting compared to the HF one.

I got both. I agree the Harbor Freight is definitely better.

I'll add to what others are saying. Get the one from Harbor Freight. The quality difference is apparent.

Just dropped into harbor freight today and I agree about the USG ones being very nice. Lots of colors, not as many as Lowe's but still I think better value.

Have no idea what to use this for but it's on sale so I must buy it. I'm in for six of them.

Their are 2 versions of these. I have bought 2 of these and one feels really cheaply made and the other is much nicer ( feels heavier and has the slides on the drawers). So if anyone picks these up in store feel for the weight and try to open drawer to see if it has the slides

I just picked up two at Harbor Freight ( for my wife she's going to use them for sewing parts - she even said she could use it for a jewelry box. ) $12.99 for the black , red or blue HF literally had hundreds of them in stock.

The ones I bought in store last week (turquoise base and top) both have ball bearing aluminum slides.
