Samsung's S90F OLED is drawing attention as a bright, colorful QD OLED TV that stands out for gaming, upscaling, and strong SDR and HDR performance. The 77 inch model is repeatedly described as the latest model year at a standout price, with some checkout totals landing around $1,530 before tax and lower after stacked discounts. Main tradeoffs are Dolby Vision support, Samsung's DTS and app quirks, and return or warranty hassles that can erase some of the savings.
Shoppers comparing premium 77-inch OLEDs, because the 77-inch model is QD-OLED and is repeatedly described as a strong value versus higher-priced alternatives.
Viewers prioritizing vivid color and strong upscaling on non-4K content, because Samsung is described as more accurate, brighter, and better at upscaling.
Home theater setups that need DTS passthrough through the TV, because DTS support is missing and may require an external audio extractor or receiver upgrade.
Buyers who may need an easy return path, because Samsung returns can be a hassle and one reported case involved a cracked screen and a difficult refund process.
It can work on some EPP accounts and on the 77-inch model, but it is reported as invalid on Education and first-responder accounts. Some shoppers also found the code removed a previously selected offer instead of lowering the total.
Watch the Samsung Vision AI video while signed in, then add the TV to cart; the discount can appear automatically without a separate code. Clearing cookies and using the TV & AV menu path reportedly helps when the offer does not show up.
The S90F is reported to be far brighter in Game Mode, more colorful, and better at handling direct reflections, while the C5 has Dolby Vision and can keep blacks darker in bright rooms. For Xbox and Dolby Vision content, the C5 has a slight edge; for brightness and QD-OLED color, the S90F does.
It does not support Dolby Vision, and DTS passthrough is also reported as unsupported. That means some setups may need an Apple TV, Nvidia Shield, or an external audio extractor/splitter for full media compatibility.
Was able to get the 10% discount from watching the video linked before, the EPP discount, but wasn't able to use the promo code (the chat agent said that that's an employee discount only). They did throw in the extended two year warranty. $1619 before tax.

Yeah that's what I was getting on my other EPP account. On the primary one, ordered for 1529 + extended warranty. Briefly dipped to 1430 last week...
I am getting an LG C5 77in for $1370 after capone cashback (will have to buy HD or Lowes giftcards).
my conundrum is which to keep. tried the cancellation trick, and Sammy is not willing to discount anything. seems the LG has better upscalling, but not as eye candy with the colors. I might have to take both out and put them side by side and see which ones I like better with the same content.

Don't plan on sending anything back to Samsung. Return options are your long pole in the tent. Not sure they have local BESTBUY PU????
C5 is fine. Just be sure to buy it where you can return it without a hassle. A WOLED for sure!
Some of the 83" are WOLED. Not sure about the other sizes.
If they are shipping your Sammy I think you are committed! I would be surprised if they let you cancel!
G5 to get the latest panels!

We tested the Samsung S90F in its 65-inch configuration. Just like the Samsung S90D, the Samsung S90F also uses varied panel types across sizes. This means the 42-inch, 48-inch, and 83-inch models use the WOLED panel, whereas the 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch sizes are built with a quantum dot-enhanced (QD-OLED) panel.
I have had horrible experiences with Samsung on delivery and after sales support on appliances.
I have noticed a difference in Quality between LG and Samsung products and as always model/type specific. My Samsung washer and dryer and far superior in quality to my LGs but LG service was easier to deal with! We will see on dependability!

Hi. Thanks.
well the S90F is a local BestBuy pickup (I have not picked it up yet), so I assume I would return to best buy and not ship it back to Samsung. I have to check on that one.
The C5 is coming from Walmart, so I would think I take it back to a Walmart, but is getting shipped and delivered as they did not have them in store for pickup.
so the best I could do for the 77in is $1458. Hey how did you get the price down to 1458? The lowest I'm getting is $1,619 and they won't give me anything else via chat
