Not true. Gore-tex is moving on from PFAS for their products and licensed liners. As for Adidas, there's no indication right now if they have gone PFAS free as of yet. But there are industry bans in place globally and in key US states such as CA and NY.

I am hesitant due to these shoes do not have an open upper, and the return policy says there is a return shipping fee of $4.95 per order regardless of how many return labels are required to ship your items back to our retailer(s).

Clearly my initial comment was stated somewhat facetiously, since obviously not EVERYTHING has PFAS in/on it. But PFAS are sufficiently ubiquitous such that avoiding wearing shoes that might have a component made with PFAS may be an exercise in futility. Not only that, but who's to say that whatever new chemical concoction that replaced PFAS is not just as bad or worse? I can see avoiding cooking your food in a non-stick pan made with PFAS, but shoes? Whatever, I guess. But your body is stil likely impacted with PFAS, various microplastics, and other environmental contaminants. I just don't see it making much of a difference, but what do I know.

You invested too much energy in this reply. Just admit you were out of the loop.

Or maybe my career entails scientific chemical analysis and associated environmental impact (and maybe I actually know what I'm talking about). Just a thought.
