The best SD ever was the 24v kobalt with 6 tools, 4 and a 2 amp batteries and a rolling case that I got about 10 years ago. 1/4 driver, 3/8 drill, light, circular saw, vibrating mutltool, sawzall, batteries and case. I tossed the case a couple of years ago. All tools are great. Since then, got the chainsaw and a 1/2" driver. The 1/2" driver is a true beast on lug nuts.

So this is a sick deal.

Would that be compact saw be good enough to make a wood gate? I recently bought the Kobalt impact wrench kit, but might return and get this instead.

Agreed, and if you need a reciprocating saw there's 2 options in the free section. I recommend smaller ones for tight spaces

Maybe Rigid? (Kinda guessing on that as I haven't used Rigid much)
I've found Kobalt not to be quite as high quality as Milwaukee/DeWalt but much better than Ryobi/Craftsman.

It can cut through anything with 2 inch width, but just barely. Pressure-treated lumber tends to bow out a little, so cuts might need a handsaw for cleanup on the last little bit. But this won't go through a 4x4 (unless you're doing multiple passes), and if you're doing a lot of rip cuts you'll probably want a full size.
