Not a lot of choice in wide and colors. For men in 10.5 2E (Wide) all I saw was "Earth Shadow with Reflection and Urgent Red", so that's what it will be.
The RunRepeat folks rated them as "Good!" https://runrepeat.com/new-balance...x-1080-v14 The review impressed them with durability, breathability, a premium upper, and increased stack height.
For those that don't want to read the review. It has great shock absorption, but isn't much for energy return. It is a high heel and forefoot stack shoe. It's better for forefoot and midfoot strikers, less so for heel strikers. They're insanely plush, and cloud soft. Because of thick midsole it is a rocker heel to toe. It has good traction and grip. They state it's almost an ounce heavier than the previous v13 which the consider a "downside" compared to other brands. If you're focused on comfort this shouldn't matter. It has a removable insole (not all do nowadays).
In summary
Who should buy:
Runners who value superior comfort in both the midsole and upper.
Those seeking plush cushioning paired with first-class durability for consistent daily training.
Marathoners looking for a recovery shoe that ensures a soft ride after tough workouts.
Who should NOT buy:
The 1080 v14 gains noticeable weight compared to its predecessor, making it feel heavy—a definite drawback for runners seeking a lighter ride. In our view, the ASICS Novablast 5 is a stronger alternative for those concerned about this issue.
