GPU comes down a hair. Ram goes through the roof. These are tough years for PC builders.

This is gonna blow your mind, but I have this exact GPU and a G80SD (4K OLED) and I can run BF6 multiplayer at 4K with DLSS-P (no frame gen) at around 120 FPS. How many more frames do you guys need? Will getting 500 FPS make you top fragger?

On top of that, I've played Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, and many more new-ish titles and this card does fine. It's so overhated, it's hilarious. I mean, make sure you have a beefy CPU if you're gonna be at 4K and not something from 5 generations ago, but yeah, this card CAN do 4K.

The one time I've ran into a POSSIBLE issue was with Cyberpunk and turning on path tracing. Yeah, 12GB isn't gonna cut it for that, but was this card made for that?

If you're planning on 1080p resolution, this is fine.

For 1440p, some games are already starting to hit 12GB VRAM usage at higher settings.

For 4k, only 12GB VRAM will surely hold you back.

If you can afford it, go up to the 5070TI. If not, drop to the 5060TI.

Just my opinion for anyone wanting to do more than 1080p...

my guess is these don't sell as well because of the 12GB RAM. LLM's really need the memory

Besides BF6, those games are 4-5 years old. And most folks see the 5070 as decent like you say, but not as future-proofed due to the lack of VRAM, which 16gb gets you more milage.

100% this. Tried to warn my friend about the 12GB limit but he bought the 5070 anyway. Returned it on the 29th day for the 5070 ti because the games he was playing at 1440p were going over the 12GB limit.

WTF why is it 192 bit width? This is artificially holding back the capabilities of these cards. My 3080 FTW has 384 bit width, DOUBLE the addressable bandwidth of this card, but it's rated the same speed, and nearly the same price. What was NVIDIA thinking?

because the bus address width isn't everything when it comes memory performance? and you are comparing a 80 series card with a 70 series card.

3080 has 384 bit width with GDDR 6 gives memory bandwidth of 760 GBps
5070 has 192 bit width with GDDR 7 gives memory bandwidth of 672 GBps

frankly speaking, even if you focus only on the memory bandwidth (which while is important, but not all of the graphic card), those two are close enough for a 70 card vs 80 card, and then you have 5070TI that has 256 bit bus that gives you memory bandwidth of 896 GBps.

and completely off topic...
a desktop 5070's GPU performance (meaning before vram becomes a bottle neck) is actually the same as 5090 mobile chip. while the 5090 mobile does have almost double of everything, but it runs at half the clock speed compare to 5070 desktop.

Just ordered the 5070 Ti a few days ago. I'm coming from a 3060 Ti 8GB.
I knew I wanted the extra performance and VRAM since I want to take full advantage of my 49" ultra wide @ 1440p resolution.
I have to keep textures low on BF6 while at 1080p due the being limited on the 8GB VRAM.
