Clearanced at one local store here in North Florida but not at the other local store. That store never has clearanced stuff though.

This trimmer is a beast, almost never bogs down and can cut just about anything. Massive upgrade over the single battery quik-lok trimmer.

$179 on both more stores that are clearance but this also requires 2 batteries.

The other (newer?) m18 models only requires 1

The 16" model only requires 1 battery

I remember a couple years back getting the Milwaukee trimmer on clearance at HD, but that one only took one battery (which it came with along with a charger). Price was definitely right though. This one looks like it takes 2 batteries, but doesn't come with any. Good if you already have batteries, but not very good if you aren't already bought into the Milwaukee system.

we have two of the other ones. If they wont cut it, Your using an improper tool and need a brush hog.

I'm in the Dewalt family and I've been looking for a powerful battery string trimmer, to no avail. I wonder if I could use 2 DeWalt to Milwaukee battery adapters on this?

Unfortunately mine also had it for 179. For 99 it's a no brainer for me. But for 179, not worth it yet.
