I got one of these for $50 earlier in the year. After the first heavy rain here in Chicago condensation got in to the inside of the camera, blurring any images. Could never shift it either. The AI identification (not really needed for the 6 types of bird I actually get in my yard) is a subscription service. I also thought I'd be able to put the app on my firestick and view the feeder... uh... feed in real time, but that wasn't possible.
I did pick up another model that was $14 after a coupon code last week, but that's about as much as I'd pay.

How much is the subscription?

For the one I bought earlier in the year, it was tied in to an app called Tris Home which looks like they wanted either $40 for a year with recordings from the last 7 days being viewable, or $70 for a year with 30 days worth of recording. It looks like a native Chinese app that has been poorly translated to English. And a home camera app with bird stuff thrown in as an afterthought.
If you're just buying this for the novelty value and it being cheap then go for it (I'm in this category). If you're buying it for someone who is very much in to the idea of watching birds (ie if I were buying something for my dad), then it might be worth dropping the premium cost of the ones advertised on infomercials or pitched on Dragon's Den, as at least then you'll have access to support and an English language focused app.

Disposable crap that some American company imported and thought would be a useful way to get money from other Americans.

Anyone thinking of buying a bird feeder like this do some research on squirrel prevention before you do. Mine was destroyed within a week, I even used "spicy" bird seed that is supposed to keep squirrels away, they seemed to love it more than before!
