I use an older version of this saw professionally in a crate building shop. If you take the time to set it up correctly, it cuts true. Ours is mounted into a miter saw station. We haven't had to recalibrate ours in over 2 years. The stock blade is decent, but we eventually replaced it with a CMT blade with more teeth. Consequently, it cuts a little slower, but comes out with a clean edge. I also made a zero clearance insert and a custom skirt to improve dust-collection, which was terrible at first. This new model has a shadow cut line which I've mostly seen on higher end saws.

A word of advice to new miter-saw users: let the blade do the cutting. People love to jam the saw downward, but there's always a speed that let's the saw teeth clear the material without flexing the blade. It should be a smooth motion, and you can feel the difference when you get it right.

Other safety rules always apply - no loose clothing or hair, never reach across the blade, always keep the material against the fence, etc. Good to familiarize yourself with the basics.

I used this miter saw for a couple of years, and after switching to the DeWalt DCS361, I can't imagine going back. The Metabo HPT was my first miter saw, and I didn't realize how fragile it felt until I upgraded to DeWalt. If I could offer any advice, it would be to invest a bit more in this type of tool, as it directly relates to safety.

Excellent price for a nice little miter saw. I own this one and it's an excellent entry level tool if you're in the market. I use it with a Bora miter saw stand and have been very happy with it.

Standard sale price, but what a great basic no-frills saw. Mine's an older model, but I put an 80 tooth ultra fine Diablo blade on mine and it's square and smooth. Unless you know you'll need something bigger/sliding/battery operated, this is a great entry point for a first saw, and for lower usage homeowners, this may be the only miter saw you'll ever need.
