Yeah... I remember driving to Fry's with my dad to buy a 2x CD-RW drive (external SCSI) for $700 on sale

Fond memories of the sneaker-net days. We might return to them if data breaches become so prevalent that we can't trust things to be accessible on the net.
... someone loaned a DVD to my wife the other day, and I asked her how they expected us to watch it. Maybe the library has DVD players?

3....2....1..... Here comes the guy who always appears to claim external drives these are salvaged from old computers shipped to China, meticulously removed from dead PC's....then tested....refurb'd....somehow all fitted into new matching bezels even if the old drives wouldn't be the same internal size / style (part of the claim is they come from random PC's not a single line of old hardware). Afterwards they somehow pass QC checks, magically work as an external drive without any new hardware, and finally are packaged & shipped back to the US so they can be sold again on Amazon for less than the cost of a value meal so some shadow cabal can make millions in the process. LOL, and I thought the moon landing being faked seemed farfetched

P.S. Can I also get Lightscribe? I think I still have a 50 pack of those discs collecting dust.

Oh yeah? I remember using a hole punch on a SS 5.25" floppy to be able to write on the other side, making it a DS hack for free. Get off my lawn! 😂
Unfortunately, me too. Sucks to get old.

I paid $40 for each 1MB stick for my 386DX PC to get it to 4MB.

Note that's 4MB, not GB.

You only needed 640K to run DOS, but Windows 3.1 liked 4MB.
