"The line must be activated, and stay, on our Dark Star network."
Unfortunately, ATT sucks in my area. Otherwise, seems like a nice deal.

They do offer the option of paying more upfront if you don't want the hassle of using a prepaid card. For the Unlimited Starter:
"Pay $270 up front, then receive a $151 prepaid card at activation with code SWEETER119. Or get a sweet deal of $149 at checkout with code SWEET149"
And for the Unlimited Premium:
"Pay $390 up front, then receive a $211 prepaid card at activation with code SWEETER179. Or get a sweet deal of $239 at checkout with code SWEET239"

Although as someone else mentioned, one caveat is that you're stuck on the Dark Star for a year which is AT&T service. The 50% off Multi-Network add-on (which I assume makes the cost from $7.50/mo -> $3.75/mo) would be worth getting since it allows your phone to use T-Mobile and Verizon networks in case AT&T sucks in your area.

I ported in my line to dark star on Sunday with them and just finished chatting with customer service, they won't do anything for me. I got the email notifying me of this better promotional pricing about 45 minutes after switching from mint. Feelsbadman

That is the entire point of multi-network. You anchor on dark star (ATT) and can add TMO (lighspeed) or Verizon (warp). This 100% works they are even pitching it in USM subreddit by mods. Whether that is worth it to people, that is YMMV.
I know how multi-network works, but, this specific deal is for 1 line, so you can't use multi-network on this line EVER

However, if you add more lines AND add multi-network, then this becomes something that is completely different and would cost WAY more than what this deal is all about

Can someone clarify this for me. I see lots of talk of porting phone numbers from other carriers to Google voice in order to sign up for new member offers with the same carrier. I'm also reading that Google voice costs $20 to port. Is everyone just taking that into account, bc no one seems to mention it?
I used Tello to port in on the Visible deal. Was $9.xx

The CSRs on Reddit are saying existing customers are ok so long as you port over a line. No part of the promo says new customers only (not in the same way that Visible makes you use a new email address, create a new account, etc). This is convenient for me bc I manage all my family's lines

That's way better than the 167 deal
Not worth the hassle to return and go this route IMO. I got the 167 deal and have yet to activate. It's only a savings of 48 bucks and I despise those Visa/Mastercard GC's.

Was $3.00 to port out Google Voice. Did it last month.

My mint mobile 5 GB plan renews tomorrow for $180/y. Called them for port-out pin, and after some haggling, they offered to lower my renewal to $120/y (for the same 5 GB plan). I'm almost aways on Wi-Fi and hardly use 1-2 GB/month of mobile data. So I stayed. (Yes, I know, I'm probably getting worse value, but I didn't want to deal with number porting hassles / esims / new account setup etc etc.)

So I looked into this myself some and it's $20 to port a preexisting number into Google voice. No cost to hold it there but the initial transfer from a carrier into voice is $20.

Maybe you're talking about porting back out from Voice, or another deal you have

Are there taxes or other fees in addition?
When I signed up for the $199 deal a couple months ago, there were $0 in taxes and fees. Just a single charge for $199.

Dark Star network

Unlimited Premium. QCI 8 included.
Unlimited Starter. QCI 9.

https://www.usmobile.com/blog/what-is-qci/

Always tempting by my Current AT&T Prepaid is QCI8. Last time I used US Mobile on both T-mobile and Verizon network experience was horribly slow just surfing the web. Granted 2 years ago.

"Pay full price now, receive a $151 prepaid Mastercard within 48 hours of activation when you bring your own number. The plan will activate and remain on the Dark Star network. Multi-Network add-on available, 50% off for the first year. Plan non-refundable upon activation. Ineligible for referral rewards"

My plan will end in beginning of the Jan. Can I still get the prepaid mastercard when I port in my number in Jan.?

That wouldn't work for this deal, it clearly states you MUST stay on Dark Star

Network Restrictions
Network transfers are blocked for this offer. Lines must remain on Dark Star for the full duration of the annual cycle. Any attempt to transfer the line to a different network will void any applicable promotional pricing or prepaid card issuance. The line's authorized payment method may be charged the difference between the full price of the annual plan and the discounted promotional price.
Incorrect. Multi-network is allowed on this deal. Your main number gets ported into AT&T, then you pay $45 to have a second eSIM active on either of the other two networks and your phone will automatically switch its data connection between the two. You can even port into Dark Star and then exclusively use all of your data on your Multi-Network (Light Speed/Warp, whichever) line and you'd still be fine. The only catch is that while data on Dark Star is completely unlimited, you're limited to 75GB on the other two before they throttle to 1Mbps.

Would love some help here if anyone can provide direction. I've been with T-mobile for over a year now and have good coverage but I'm getting tired of paying $155 a month for 3 lines. I've had ATT before and coverage wasn't as good. Is it worth it to do this and just do the multi-network add on? Still feels like I'm coming up way ahead of what I'm paying now ($1,800 a year). Yes, I have Netflix included but can just pay that separate.
