I have this exact pan and the next size up and the handles do not get hot. At all.

Great little pans. They are my goto for small things.

Since it's technologically possible to make pots and pans with handles that don't get screaming hot, and seemingly without adding much if any cost to the product price, wtf does any company still make them with metal handles that get blazing hot?
Probably because nobody in human history has ever made anything screaming hot in a 1.5-Quart saucepan. Seems like a good enough reason.

I agree. I bought a 1.5qt pot a few months back, and the lid handle does get uncomfortably hot. Seems dumb they do that in this day and age.

Is this well made? The Ikea ones feel so cheap, so wondering if these have a bit more heft.

A 1.5qt 3 ply pot $25 is not going to be hefty almost regardless of who makes it. There's not a lot of material and thus not a lot of weight. On the other hand I have a 5 ply 2.5qt saucepan that weighs way more and feels way more hefty than my 4qt 3ply saucepan.

Sounds like you put the pan in the oven to bake something in it and magically I mean with your scientific brain expect the handle to be cool to handle ? Just maybe
