If your frame of reference is $30 rice cookers by Aroma, then yes, this is expensive.

However, most rice fanatics like brands like this and Zojirushi. They're generally north of $100, sometimes very far north of it.

Read the review there: "And it took more than 2 hours to cook porridge, what's the point of a pressure cooker if cooking time is not reduced? ".

Moist rice from cooking under pressure. Newer models are $500 what do you mean they are expensive?
I have a sub $50 rice cooker that makes very moist rice.. or could just get an instant pot for pressure cooked rice and be able to make a lot of other things in it. guess i'm not sure what all the extra money gets ya

You wouldn't know the difference of sticky moist until you use one of these. This will last you for years. I am not sure why you are bragging about your $50 rice cooker... that is not flex. I have 4 rice cookers from cheap ones to high end. I've used it all.

Can you not cook 5 cups in a 10 cup rice cooker? Is there a minimum amount of rice that you are required to cook? Apologize for my ignorance as I haven't owned any of the expensive options and I'm asking this in good faith.

up to 10, it's just bigger so it'll take more space than a 5 cup

I have gone through many rice cookes, including the Zojirushi IH Pressure cooker, and this makes the best rice by far. My brother wasn't convinced, we did a blind taste test and this won. Very good price on this

Looking for a rice cooker as a Christmas gift. Why does this have such bad reviews on Amazon. From missing parts, bad rice quality and breaking within a few months.

seems expensive for a rice cooker.. what makes it special?
These are 10 cup pressure cooker rice. Pressure cooking rice makes it last longer, more moist and just more delicious than a $30 one at walmart. The induction powered ones are even better still.
