I have the original mClassic. Really helps Wii U and Switch games look better on a 4k TV.

I'm confused as to what this product actually does. It sounds like it externally replaces your TV's built-in hardware and software upscaling so your TV doesn't have to do that same work in Game Mode or...something like that. Either way, it sounds like some piece of hardware (TV or This thing) is upscaling. what is the benefit of this?

This thing basically upscales. If you want your 1080p games to look a tad better on a 4k TV, it helps in most game situations.

You'd have to constantly be unplugging/plugging it back in every time you changed from a Switch 2 (or updated Switch 1) game to an original Switch 1 game.
So I would say, no. Not really, and not worth it.

Technically, it will work, but there wouldn't be much benefit as the Switch 2 already outputs high resolution.

Some TVs do some upscaling, but generally not that great at it.
