It's a bit of a gamble. Most of the time they arrive okay, but it's a pain to get a refund when they break, and sometimes they break all over expensive stuff they bundle em with. My fav is when they bundle the rat poison loose in the same box as food.
This seems like a great price. How is Amazon going to prevent the glass jars from breaking?
If they're glass, absolutely not.
If they're plastic, also absolutely not.
I recently got my S&S delivery for the month. They decided to pack - in one box - two 208 fl oz containers of laundry soap with five 2 lb bags of coffee and a pair of reading glasses. There was no padding or cushion. Shockingly the glasses weren't smashed, but the head of one of the laundry detergent containers was and there was soap all over everything in the box.
I had no problem getting a replacement for the soap (actually I haven't received it yet because the replacement shipment was returned to the warehouse before being delivered because it was damaged...) But, I'm fighting with them to get the coffee replaced because "it wasn't damaged".
Amazon has horrible packaging practices and they don't care because people around here are "well, just waste your time and get a refund" and people out in the wild do nothing, but continue to spend money with Amazon (I guess I fall into that category too.).
This price is just OK. Last 2 months they had Prego Cheese or Mushroom for less than $1.26 each. I ordered 3 to 4 jars for each of the last 2 months and all have arrived safely. They put them in sealed bubble wrap bags.

Amazon packaging has been APPALLING all this year. I have had to contact them through chat to get refunds for probably 30% of my Subscribe & Save orders. And on most of the other orders there were crushed boxes and dented cans that I didn't think were bad enough to get refunds for. I noticed they started using boxes with much thinner cardboard to save weight and money, this is probably contributing to the problem.

Many grocery items are never intended for mixed courier sorting (tumbling) and delivery: fragile paper and glass containers (esp when mixed with heavier items). I've had bread crumb (in paper tub) and snack bags popped open, pump/squeeze bottle head snapped and liquid spilled. There is a reason FreshDirect / Amazon Fresh / supermarket-online-ordering exist, they pack their stuff carefully and not let the bags topple or toss them in a vehicle. But Prime shipping is higher volume and cheaper, with no need to pay extra for Fresh.
Merchandise going to supermarket are packed homogeneously (no mixed items like pasta sauce + macaroni box), tightly (not loose), with padding between items if necessary, and handled carefully (no dented cans).

They wrap it with a thin piece of bubble wrap. Doesn't really help but I've been lucky. I order lots of bottles and cans, and I've never had a broken bottle and only a few dented cans.

They really use bubble wrap on each bottle which I think is a lot labor intensive and it costs money. Please don't make unnecessary demands and then still demanding refunds. It jacks up the process for all of us. I do not complain about little things in life. That should be the motto to live this life. Cheers !

They usually wrap products such as laundry, cleaners etc if they would be in the same box. No problem at all. All this whining about little things in life and then demanding refund and replacements have caused them to be very strict with CS issues for all who might have otherwise legit claim. If you found the laundry bottle with loose or wet cap, then be it and learn to adapt and live with it. Cheers !

You don't have any idea what you are talking about. Amazon has NEVER wrapped any laundry items when they packed them with coffee and potato chip bags. I had a container of dishwashing pods crushed and most of the pods were fused due to leakage from another item in the box. Twice this year their replacement items have been undeliverable because they poorly packaged for shipping and they ruptured before they even got to me.
So it's whining about little things when you order something, it gets destroyed before it gets to you because of poor packaging and destroys other items in the same shipping box? Oh wise one, how do you adapt to 1/2 a laundry detergent bottle leaked all over 5 bags of coffee?
And since you know so much about how and why of Amazon CS, why don't you have a chat with their packaging department?

All I am saying the above and simply rinse the coffee ALUMINUM AIR SEALED bags and feel free to use the coffee at least and don't demand replacement for coffee that was clearly "not damaged," cheers
